Should this development proceed and wipe away 50 years of speedway history, not to mention thousands of local people’s enjoyment, the council has a moral (and possibly legal) duty to find an alternative location for the speedway team and the thousands of speedway fans from across the country who visit the showground and city every year.

We should keep the speedway racing community alive in Peterborough where it belongs since 1970, i was there from the start. All ages, out in the fresh air. Nobody judging what you look like or if you are on your own, cheer on your favourite rider/team. Keep our sport alive here for the generations either to support or race.

Save the showground for the panthers and many other business that use to use it including all the shows that brought in a lot of revenue for the city

This would be a travesty. Peterborough Speedway has provided pleasure to so many over the years and brings visitors to the City from opponents cities/towns. Peterborough City council should do everything in their power to save speedway for the city

A proposed leisure park which removes a long standing sports team without regard to either the supporters or the local plan. Outrageous

Could the Peterborough council please help and do whatever possible to bring back Peterborough speedway and help us with a track to race on for everyone who lives local and for every speedway fan in uk who have enjoyed the racing the last 50 years on the show ground

It will be a major loss to Peterborough, as are the other major events that have been lost from the Showground such as Truckfest and the BMF rally.

The Coventry decision sets a precedent. The development plans should not be approved. The time to develop the Showground was when Orton Southgate/Northgate was built. Any development now will make thousands of residents life a misery for over 10 years. Dust, noise, mud plus loss of value to existing homes. The time has passed for developing the Showground I’m afraid, keep as is, employ proper promoters to put on a variety of yearly events and for Gods sake bring the Speedway back.

It’s a great, profitable venue that should be returned or reinstated elsewhere in Peterborough.
