After 4 years each student deserves to walk the graduation walk!!! I’m a graduate of Regis and that day is a fond memory. Katie deserves it too

Please allow for the students to have a graduation ceremony it is so important for first generation families. Family members can watch virtually nursing students will be vaccinated makes no sense why this can’t be held on the football all field

There are many creative ways to hold a graduation safely between social distancing and mask wearing or delay until end of summer. Seniors were denied their final year of school together don’t deny them of a graduation.

PLEASE READ: This is why I believe Regis has not made this decision based on our "safety and well-being:" I can predict I am not the only one struggling with the costs Regis is attempting to charge for this semester. I have owed Regis 4 different amounts in the last two months because they have decided to take back scholarships based on their own "opinion and attendance on campus." Since ALL of my classes are online I rightfully chose not to live on campus, however my tuition is almost the same as if i did. After looking over my bill Regis explained the taking back of scholarships for this semester based on what I quoted above. On top of that, Regis is saying that I owe them for LAST FALL semester a scholarship they are NOW deciding to take back, even though that semester is far completed and I paid what I owed at the time. And just to add to it all, if the bill is not paid by their set time we owe yet another $100, although I have been in constant debate with financial aid. So not only is Regis stealing back money they can from someone who has dedicated a lot to this school as a nursing major and a respectable member on a sports team, they are stealing away a graduation. With this attempt to over-charge and pick back money, wouldn't you think we could afford a split graduation, or even members to think of an alternate way? NO. they can't because they only care about housing their funds and saving money from a virtual graduation. Yes this is an unprecedented time for EVERYONE, we are stressed out enough, stop this greediness and if you're going to steal money back, at least make it worth our while. We have been in this pandemic long enough, there are safe solutions. If anyone else is dealing with this, I hope something will be done!

For the class of 2020 and 2021, we deserve to have an in person graduation. Last summer, in person high school graduation ceremonies happened in Lynn by following social distancing guidelines. At Manning field, each graduate crossed the stage which was placed in the middle of the turf, the family took a picture from the track field across the turf and then (both the graduate and the family) walked straight out to the parking lot. This did not allow for crowds to form while ensuring graduates still crossed the stage. There are options that can make graduation happen.

One year ago, the class of 2020 attended the “100 Days to Commencement” celebration. Little did we know, it would be a year later until we could celebrate our graduation from Regis.
As a member of the class of 2020, I recall the same feeling of sadness and loss when we were asked to leave campus at the start of the pandemic in March of 2020. It was as if our only hope was coming back to celebrate our Senior Week, Nursing Pinning, and Commencement. We didn’t get to say goodbye to friends, faculty, or staff. We packed our dorms and went back to our home states, believing that we would be back in a few weeks time. Little did we know, we wouldn’t have any graduation celebrations, nor the ability to say one last goodbye to our beloved campus and friends.
I was so happy that Regis had sent out a poll for graduates to vote what form of graduation we had wanted for the near future, since May graduation was off the table. The lowest number of votes was for a virtual graduation (understandably), followed by small ceremonies in the middle, and a postponed large ceremony in the overwhelming majority. We were so excited. It made our bitter end to senior year worth the wait for our chance to finally walk across that stage, get pinned by one of our nursing professors, or have our hooding ceremony under a tent. Our time would come.
Fast forward to today, that same feeling of loss is back- the same sadness that we experienced in March of 2020 is here again, 11 months later. Why, Regis? What happened to your promise in the spring?
The promise of graduation is gone, two classes are now affected, and no signs of hope for celebrating our accomplishments is visible in the near future.
As a COVID nurse and an FNP student at Regis, I am so disappointed that the school has made this decision, not realizing the importance of graduation to many of us. The Class of 2020 was thrown into the world in a pandemic, on the front lines, fighting for “The Common Good” as the Sisters of

This is unacceptable, there is a simple way to hold the ceremony and follow all CDC and Local health guidelines. It only takes a little effort to be a success. These are young people how are about to leave Regis and embark on their respective careers, this is possible and they all deserve it.

I would be fine not having visitors if that means we can walk! I feel like this is Regis being lazy. We easily could break the days up and have small gatherings by major. Most of us are frontline workers!

Please reinstate the commencement ceremony for these students. They have worked very hard to achieve their goals and deserve the recognition for working through unprecedented circumstances.

A safe in person graduation is possible. It has been done by many other schools and there is no reason that we cannot do this too. I don't mind walking on the Regis lawn or wherever it needs to be. This decision is premature and there should have been a discussion about this before a rash decision was made. The senior class has plenty of ideas of how to do this safely.
