Refugees you are not alone

Did you know that refugees suffer from bombs and gunshots? 79.5 million people around the world have been forced to leave their country because of an internal conflict. I think that this should stop! We should think about the people who have lost their families, homes and things or people they love. Refugees were forced to leave their countries because of wars, natural disasters and safety reasons. Did you know that most refugees come from Syria, South Sudan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Somalia?

Did you know that refugees mostly come from less fortunate places? Usually most undeveloped countries that have issues with safety such as crime, theft, pollution and war. Studies show that over 170,000 children have to start their own journey without their parent. Some of the consequences are… if the kids get lost, or if they are very young they can suffer of not having food and they can also get put in a shelter until they find their family members. They can also lose some of their family members and they can run away from them. You can get very scared stressed and frightened.

To begin with, the reason why refugees migrate is that their countries could have been destroyed by a natural disasters war or conflict. They can also leave because they have lack of safety or even no place to live in. Do you think that it’s fair for the refugees to move from country to country just to be safe? They have to move as their lives are in danger, and so they don’t die. Their lives depend on how fast they are to run. Sadly many refugees have died from not being able to escape a bullet or survive the waves in the ocean, therefore lots of them have passed away.

I really hope you understood my message and we can start taking action. Let’s start spreading the word and I want to collect at least 50 votes by the end of the month. Hope you understood my message and let’s stop this!!!

The stories coming in through these comments are heavy and they remind me why this work is necessary. It is exhausting to look at the scale of this crisis every single day but I am not stopping now.

Heartbreaking to read about the kids traveling alone. Nobody should have to live like that. Thank you for speaking up on this.

Well done Lori! My husband and I have worked with refugees for over 20 years and it is so important that the world understands their plight - refugees are not economic immigrants and do not want to leave home. Keep up the great work!

I believe we must support and help refugees, it is not their choice to move and look for security, they were forced to. Especially now in covid times it is more dangerous for them. Let's all help
