Have you ever thought about losing your family from a natural disasters or from war? Refugees are people who are forced to flee their country because of war, natural disasters or the safety of the country. There are 79.5 million people that are refugees around the world! Did you know that refugees have to leave their belongings behind and sometimes lose their relatives?

In my opinion the number of refugees is quite alarming!! We all need to start taking action and raise awareness. Wouldn’t you be super depressed for the rest of your life if you found yourself in such a situation as a refugee?

Firstly, did you know that it is not secure for refugees to scram from their country to another because of war, natural disasters and safety reasons? More than 4,000 refugees have died to war, natural disasters and safety. Refugees leaving the country usually take a very long journey by walking barefoot or taking a boat. Sometimes when refugees are in boats they fall in the water and drown if they don’t know how to swim. Very few refugees reach a safe place or a country or they end up in the refugee camp. Even though they are at the refugee camp the government can’t afford to provide the basic needs for a refugee.

Secondly, all refugees don’t get proper education and maybe no education at all! Many refugees are barred from the classrooms because they left behind some important documents like their mark sheets, certificates and ID documents. Four million refugee children go without schooling:UNHCR report.

Thirdly, 2.6 million refugees live in camps, just over the tenth of the refugee population.Others live in informal settlements and urban areas.Wouldn’t you be annoyed if you were living in a tent instead of your house? You would be hungry if you don’t get three meals a day and clean water. Right?
