The stories shared in the comments section continue to remind me why this work is deeply necessary for our campus community. I am currently preparing a formal proposal to share with the administration to ensure they understand the breadth of this backing.

Reaching this level of support confirms that our community truly values the promise of education for everyone in Utah. It is heartening to see how clearly we agree on the importance of welcoming displaced students into our classrooms. This momentum provides a firm foundation as we prepare to discuss these goals with the college administration.

In addition to developing a broader scholarship for refugees, this effort might complement funding that has already been secured to provide scholarships for students from South Salt Lake (which has a high refugee population).
Westminster is making important steps toward promoting diversity and inclusion, but one major obstacle is affordability of the college to some of the most underserved students in the Salt Lake area. Yes to the scholarship!
This is important to support the parts of the world that we say we do as an institution and to further education to those who are systematically denied it. Fantastic idea; full undying support
This is a fantastic opportunity for Westminster to show true dedication to the refugee community here in Utah and throughout the country.
This is way needed! Hook the refugees up with the same opportunity that others have.
This effort perfectly supports Westminster's stated mission.
