As a young girl, I’ve always shown an interest for Asian culture, and aspire to become an interpreter for Mandarin. Thus, throughout my high school experience, I’ve made it my mission to make sure I attend Middlebury College, a selective school well-known for their stellar international studies program. I have recently been waitlisted, but if you sign this petition, perhaps the power of everyone’s words will move me up the waitlist and straight to acceptance!
I’d like to show my “attitude of gratitude” to everyone that has helped me get this far in my journey: my supportive family and friends, my countless EMERGE mentors, and Dr. Mark T. Villa, a plastic surgeon and Middlebury alumnus. Now, it’s time to turn that “passion into action!”

Reaching this point has been an exhausting marathon and I am truly humbled by the attention this has received. My energy is drained but seeing your encouragement keeps me moving forward against the odds.

Kennedy Manuel is an amazing student and she works extremely hard! Please move her up!!
I have known Kennedy her entire life. She works hard, and she persists. She never gives up even when the situation looks grim. Please consider moving her to the top of the list, I’m absolutely sure that she would be a great asset to the Middlebury Community!
Kennedy is a very dedicated student, who if accepted, would be prove herself to be an asset to your institution.
Kennedy is an amazing human being who is extremely focused on her studies. She will surely be an asset to the middlebury family as she is a passionate and driven individual!
Kennedy resembles a type of student that is incredibly determined, remarkably logical, and impeccably intelligent, all of which I believe would aid her in any career path she wishes to pursue.
