Invest in resources by examining less effective use of tax dollars and depositing in basic safety to make this a town for law abiding citizens who live on a budget.
This is about climate change as well as social justice for citizens. I don’t want to use the bus any more. A squeeze for being a senior citizen who is financially and physically losing capacity. I support you in moving forward with structural changes.

I want the city and the county to enforce our laws. For too long there has been 2 levels of law, one for the " homleness" and for law abiding tax paying citizens. repeat We need to keep repeat offenders ffeoff the streets. Offer help, and if they decline, then enforce the consequences.

A lot of this lies at the feet of Pete Holmes, and his policy of not prosecuting "minor" offenses. Whatever his intentions, the message is clear to police, the public, and those who might be inclined to commit crimes.

The prosecutor's office needs to start doing their job. Our police are ready if given the mandate to clean up our lawless filthy city.

This situation also happens with the rampant car theft around the Seattle area- myself and several neighbors got our cars stolen in the space of a few weeks apart and the criminals were well known by the police and after I did my own investigation I found out they were living in our neighborhood and the police knew it all along!!! They literally did nothing to help any of us get our vehicles back. When I utilized my own smarts (and my boyfriend's past criminal connections -he used to own a bar and knew many people who were in that arena of society)-and found my car, there was plenty of evidence in the car to do DNA testing on (eg: drink bottles, sweatshirts etc.), the police didn't even bother! The really messed up thing is, the two car crooks were in jail that weekend I located my car, so if the police had done their job, they could've charged them with car theft & been able to keep them (they got out after 2 days). When I spoke to the police chief about me and my neighbors situation the response was that they knew who the perpetrators were and where they lived but they were holding off on arresting them because they were trying to get more of the group that was involved in various criminal activity beyond car theft. You tell me how that is "to protect and serve"- they aren't serving the citizens that's for sure!

The issue of violent crime and repeat offenders isn't limited to the Downturn Core. The rampant homeless population is a huge contributing factor to the rise of crime throughout the City and the loss of feeling safe and secure when out snd about. Enough is indeed enough!

Seattle is dying. It's about the drugs. I no longer encourage any friends or visitors to go to downtown Seattle. It's disturbing to see the filth in our streets and frightening to feel unsafe on our streets. WE need to enforce existing laws and clean up our streets.

How about a cap on misdemeanors such as exist on felonies?

We shouldn't have to fear walking the streets in these dangerous areas of Seattle and other parts of King Co. Being lax in handling criminals is NOT the answer! We want CHANGE NOW! Time for new elected officials!

The elected officials in Washington State need to pull the heads out of the sand and understand what they have done to our City and State through their progressive policies towards crime and drug addiction. You have been the ruling party for decades and your policies have allowed the criminals and drug addicts ruin Seattle and the rest of Western Washington

Without true consequences there are no deterrents. Supporting bad habits is NOT compassionate.
