Reform the broken Seattle / King County criminal justice system now!

Please stop offenders from being released right away and get the mentality ill who are on the streets help, they are not making best life decision and need help with that.

I went to my 1st City council mtg. on this issue, had no sense that a change is imminent...please prove me wrong !!!

More police presence NOW!

My brother is mentally I'll and lives full time at The Morrison. Trying to find him alternative housing has proven difficult. Meanwhile, we fear for his life.

In addition to the changes noted in this form, we need a police chief who is willing to actually arrest drug dealers and users, and a city attorney who is willing to prosecute criminals and keep them in jail. We also must elect a new mayor ASAP who will appoint a new police chief and elect a new city attorney who will do what the position requires by law.

I have been a downtown resident for 15 years and have seen public safety worsen steadily. Since 2010 the downtown resident population has more than doubled while the number of police in our precinct has decreased by one third. Outrageous! Why does Boston with a similar population have half again as many police as Seattle? Our city council seems adept only at wasting money on ideologically driven schemes that are ineffective.

Surprise surprise- it's been one week since the shooting and there are already roving gangs and drug addicts littering 3rd Ave again. It's pretty depressing that this is the face we show to visitors of our city. Enough is enough- let the police do their job and lock these monsters away.

We obviously need new leadership at the City Council level. NOBODY wants to tackle the drug issue which spills into Homelessness, Crime and Hobo Towns exiting without check in our community. Let's develop a plan to tackle the drug distribution and addiction issues so prevalent in our City today. The current leadership at the City Council level have made it amply obvious they have no intention of attempting to do so. Show them the door!!!

Long overdue. The less than 1% control downtown damaging and creating unsafe environment for tax paying residents, works and tourists. Seattle needs to focus on serving the majority of citizens that keep this City operating.

Please so something about the obvious criminals in our midst. Keeping them in jail is what I suggest.

I have never seen a city/county/state so inept at dealing with serious issues. Violent crimes with no consequences.

It's not only a matter of emphasis patrols, currently the police force hands are tied. They need more support and respect from government as well as the public. This is huge, complicated, cultural and generational problem that needs to be addressed with young kids, continuously throughout their lives. Start in the classroom, start at home - teach respect for one another, respect for adults, respect for authority and teach the consequences of what happens without that respect.

This Petition spells it out perfectly. The taxpaying citizens need to be heard and criminals need face consequences. Wake up City Hall!!!
