Reform the broken Seattle / King County criminal justice system now!

Enough is enough..

I grew up here and always felt safe until recent years. When we leave our homes each day we put ourselves in extreme danger wondering if we will be a victim that won't make it back. Actually, we have even become unsafe in our own homes. I remember as a kid watching Western's and thinking how I would hate to live in those times when people carried guns and could pull them out at anytime and shoot you. Well.....now I do.....we all live in the Wild Wild West and it has got to STOP. A few weeks ago I waited outside of my granddaughters High School while it was in lockdown for several hours because 2 kids brought ammo to school. NOWHERE IS SAFE!! To hear Mayor Durkan on the news saying how safe Seattle is reinforces to all just how ignorant she really is. For her to stand there and preach how Seattle is safe and crime is down to people who live and work in it daily and feel their lives continually threatened is nothing short of heartlessness and shows her disconnect. I know many downtown proprietors and workers who curse the day they voted for her. She is a FAKE!! With no consequences whatsoever for these criminals and addicts that roam our streets everything will only get worse. They have been allowed to take over and they know it. Nothing will happen to them. The fact that the last 2 downtown shooters are still at large is insane while their identities are known. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! Seattle is over City Officials doing nothing. WE WANT OUR LIVES AND STREETS BACK YESTERDAY!!! Seattle citizens are fed up with y'all not doing your jobs. What you are setting up to have happen is a city full of Vigilantism. HEAR US NOW!!!! You continue to allow rents to go up putting more and more people on the streets. I really don't know how any of you can look yourselves in the mirror or go to bed at night knowing you have taken on positions that you only talk about........no action. You clearly just want to hold titles not earn them. Right n

Increasing the number of police officers will only help if the city attorney and the courts require criminals to be responsible for their actions rather than allowing them to continue to commit crimes. It is time that thought is given the to the law abiding, taxpaying citizens of this county!

Enough is enough !!!!!

Let's make Seattle safe for families.

Bring on programs to help these criminals become decent citizens and keep from committing crime and get them off the streets.

Our mayor and city council have given criminals more rights than law abiding citizens. We need to protect Seattle citizens from violent recidivists and our poor leadership needs to either start doing their jobs or get out. We are sick and tired of no backing of the police force and idiot leadership. Period.

We have to do more to stop violent crime in Seattle

I have already written my comments to Mayor Durkan and received no reply. Perhaps this will also be ignored, but has the weight of many.

Looks like the people have spoken. Elected officials...listen up!

I work in Seattle, one of our homes was broken into repeatedly. The police response was “in Seattle, we protect the homeless and most of them are repeat offenders and nothing is going to happen to them anyway”. Really??? We are not against protecting them, but how about protecting our $800k home that they are continually damaging? Seattle’s solution can’t be to do nothing. These reforms are a good starting place.

Stop the drugs and violence by focusing on the people who create addicts and carry out violence. One more gun law piled on law abiding citizens will not change violence or drug activity carried out by career criminals.

It is time to do something about people who disobey the law and don't keep enabling people who should be given help to rise up from their current situation

Seattle's leadership is horrific. The mayor is incapable of doing anything other than spouting meaningless virtue signals to make herself feel important. City and county prosecutors should be sued by the citizens for their purposeful and repeated release of violent convicted felons into the streets every day, to assault, rape, and murder law abiding citizens over and over. Accomplice to murder would be an appropriate charge for Pete Holmes. Seattle 'leadership

Both Satterberg and Holmes need to go. The Court system needs to stop letting dangerous repeat offenders out of jail. Assault weapons should be banned. Yes, more police needed on the streets, on bikes, in the community, not in ivory towers.

I have lived in Seattle for 74 years and have seen its decline. Please fix this!
