Reform the broken Seattle / King County criminal justice system now!

We just want to live in a city where everyone is held to the same standards.

We need ACTION before our city becomes more unlivable. This can not become the new normal.

I have to go downtown about once a month for an appointment. I have to walk down one of those corridors to get to my appointment. I have continued to walk there but last week there was a mentally ill person yelling and flailing her arms down in the light rail station as I was coming home. That was scary !

I worry that the city and county prosecutors care more about helping the criminals than the victims.

These proposed steps for change are reasonable and overdue

Enough. And citizens are not reporting many crimes due to a lack of response by officials.

This city is broken and Durkin, Inslee and all the rest need to either do their job, or be removed from it.

More arrests, more jail time, more police power.

Those committing crime to fuel drug use know there are no penalties as our police are stand by, forced to watch. Things need to immediately change and it’s not true crime is down, reporting is down as we all know nothing will be done to the scofflaws. Drastic changes such as drug court with forced rehab and mental health services are needed now as a start.

Current elected officials are failing to keep the public safe.

Please stop caring more about your political power/profit than the safety and comfort of law-abiding citizens.

The problem starts with the City Attorney and his cronies. Police need to be backed up. When they arrest someone, the city is just turning them loose again. Time to change that!!

This petition makes it clear that Speak Out Seattle wants a justice system that only serves those who meet the standards of the oligarchy. We don't need more police officers - this is an end of pipe solution that does not address the root causes of violent crime. This petition reeks of pearl-clutching.

What is the contents of the petition? I don't like signing something I can't read.

The only reason to go downtown anymore is if you have to for work or jury duty. Otherwise, stay away from the crime and boarded-up storefronts.
