The Seattle Coty council should be fired for the lack of attention to the crime and homeless. As a Seattle native, I am embarrassed by our coty and the dump it has become!

Zero tolerance for these repeat violent offenders! Shut down that McDonald's (the most dangerous in the world) and turn it into a police station. Precinct Number One!

I work above Westlake Park and was unlucky enough to be close by both shootings last week. Enough.

Please, put innocent and law-abiding citizens who love our city first.

It's past the time to let our police do their job and those politicians to stay out of their way. I for one am very grateful to our police and you couldn't pay me enough to do their job.

Agree 100%. Our city council does nothing to adequately address the revolving door for criminals, lack of police officers, funding for public safety and the poor treatment of the police by certain city council members. Enough is enough.

I grew up Downtown. My grandparents had a fruit stand in the Market. It used to be fairly clean. Now it has turned into a dump with tents. Something must be done to clean these streets the way they were when I was a young boy.

Addressed to the governor, mayor, and the city Council here’s a thought for you a little less talk and a lot more action! Oh I almost forgot the liberal judges are a big part of the problem also, do your job and let the police department do their‘s .

Our tolerance of habitual criminal behavior in the name of social justice is both irresponsible, and harmful. Let the police do their job.

Enough is enough! Gun laws will not help criminals who don’t follow laws and have access to guns! We need to put them in jail and convict them when they break our written laws

I gave up reporting crimes on my street about 5 years ago. The police are responsive, but there's nothing they can do because of the local government officials. My wife and i just had our first child and we're now actively planning on getting out of Seattle. This is just not a safe place for kids. The streets are littered with trash, needles and violent criminals. There's no hope when the Mayor keeps going on TV to say that Seattle is a safe place which is a blatant lie.

I have been going downtown for the past 45 years and not until recently have I wondered if it continues to be a safe place to visit. It is heartbreaking to see a city like Seattle that has been known to have a vital downtown core over the decades, even when other cities had forgotten their downtown cores, become a place that is unsafe for citizens. If we want to keep a vital downtown core we need to make sure it is a safe place for everybody.

I think that the elected officials need to be proactive in stopping our city from being a dangerous haven for repeat criminal activities and supporting our police officers who are trying so diligently to protect and serve the citizens of Seattle! What in the heck did we, the citizens of Seattle, vote for you in the first place? Do your sworn job and take care of the law abiding citizens and hard working people of Seattle! Make Seattle a place where you would want to bring your children! I wouldn’t ask anyone I know to come here! I’m so ashamed of what we have become!
