Reform the broken Seattle / King County criminal justice system now!

I work(ed) within blocks of the shooting and walked through 3rd and Pine less than 5 minutes before the shooting. I quit my job the next morning. I'm fortunate to work for a company that is trying to work on a solution where I can work from the Eastside, but I haven't been to my office since last Wednesday. This past year I've narrowly missed two shootings at 2nd/3rd and pine. There have been 3 other shootings one block from my office, another shooting at westlake center, mass stabbing at Nordstrom. I've seen multiple drug deals, people injecting drugs, had people threaten me, scream at me and others. Most days of the week there are homeless sleeping in our doorway. I've even seen a woman urinate over a grate at Macy's. It is a rare day to be able to walk a block away from my office without seeing at least one person obviously in crisis. It's not just downtown either. It's on the bus, light rail, at the grocery, on the freeway, in my neighborhood. Drive across lake Washington and see how much of this you see. None. Enforce the laws already on the books!

So sick of the crime everywhere. Not just downtown, Ballard is just as bad. Let the police do their job and stop letting criminals back out on the street.

Please help us live without fear of violence in our streets

I used to enjoy going downtown for pleasure - to the museum, 5th ave theater, pike place market etc - and in addition, for over 17 years I worked downtown. While there were issues, I never felt afraid then. I retired 6 years ago and wanted to continue to enjoy the downtown area, however, I am now afraid to come downtown!! I am not willing to take my life in my hands just by being in the wrong place and there are becoming more "wrong" places to be. While residents of Seattle may have to put up with this lawlessness, I believe we will lose tourism dollars unless something is done to make downtown Seattle a safer place.

Prosecute the laws already on the books. Pay our police fairly, so we can recruit and maintain the police force.

WE NEED A NEW CITY ATTONEY

As a long time seattle resident and professional, if something is not done NOW, I will be relocating to a new city with better leaders and more strict law enforcement. I also vote and will vote against every single counsel member.

Pete Holmes has got to go.

Tired of seeing illegal activity being ignored on the sidewalks, parks and other public spaces in Seattle.

We need our law enforcement officers to be allowed to uphold the law, These problems cannot be ignored!

Actions should have consequences, either for breaking the law or not enforcing the law

Let's seriously consider removing Pete Holmes and Dan Satterberg ASAP !

This corner has been a continual nightmare for so many years. The two suspects still on the run have been violating the law for too long. They are habitual criminals. It is time to stop the chatter and put a plan in action to preserve our downtown and make it safe for everyone!!

We definitely need more police officers.

I have been nervous to go doentown since the stabbing outside of Nordstroms last summer snd then this happens. Stop treating the police like criminals and get the felons off the streets!

It's past time to do something about the criminals and the homeless on our downtown streets. A couple of years ago Seattle hosted a scientific meeting I went to, and it was not only an embarrassment but also frightening at night to walk around the downtown for dinner.
