This petition is to request that Durham City Council place this on the May 2013 Durham Municipal ballot. This petition is to ask the voters of Durham to decide if they would like to increase the current council from seven members to nine members and to change the Ward seats that currently allow for all registered voters in Durham to cast a vote for the candidate running for the Ward seat. The change would be to have true ward seats drawn that only allow voter that live in the designated ward area to be able to vote for the candidate running for the Ward seat. This change would give the registered voters living in the Ward designated areas a chance to elect a true candidate of there choose to represent them on the Durham City Council.
