That is not fair to many students who have already made plans with great financial consequences. Especially since they're are no closes on Fridays. The sensible thing to do is to have classes on Fridays.

A hurricane that happened the morning of Sat Oct 8th that was a Cat 2 in Savannah made SCAD decide to cancel classes for most two weeks. This was a decision they made when there was minimal damage downtown. I think it is unfair to students post Thanksgivibg plans to have to come back to school to do finals because of this. Many of us have paid for plane tickets that can't be reimbursed. Many of us have obligations, jobs internships, family that cannot be changed because SCAD chose to over compensate time off for the storm. We could very well do with less classes this quarter.

This is an unfortunate event. Regardless of date change I won't be there for the last week as I have immigration appointments at the US embassy in India which I cannot reschedule. I would prefer the dates be reverted to the original.

A rather draconian solution which should be reconsidered in light of its impact on student and parent lives and budgets. Please find another way.

I am a parent and my son is a student @ SCAD Savannah. We live abroad and his travel and holiday plans have had to be made long in advance and cannot be changed without great costs incurred. I am certain that this applies to many other students. You cannot just go ahead and rearrange the whole semester schedule and throw in finals after the Thanksgiving holiday because of this storm. You need to find a way to accommodate the students on the present schedule! This is not a very well thought out plan -I believe that you can find a solution to this issue, like Fridays and some Saturdays, without changing the closing term schedule of Nov. 17th. The integrity of the term will not be forfeited by doing this, esp. if it is just the Fridays that remain prior and the students will work extra hard these last weeks. However, they too have been through a lot and Professors and University should be also take this into consideration. This idea to put more stress on them to find their own solutions now to travel and losses is inexcusable.

I really don't want to switch my international plan ticket because my fiance's grandma is sick and she is living in the hospital now. I hope I can go back to China "on time".

I already have mi ticket for going back to my country and it would be one expense more added to the evacuation expenses that were pretty much high. Algo it doesn't make any sense

Come on! my family and I miss our sister enough as is. Do not delay her coming home another week. What about all the books she borrowed? Will the book companies extend everyone's deadlines on their books? Let's not even talk about all the flight tickets that will need be changed.... This is all unneeded stress on my sister as a freshman and I'm sure for others as well. Use Friday as another class day so they can LEAVE ON TIME!!! SCAD!

You can't do this people pay tons of money to go home if I am not able to get refunded for my plane tickets yiu are going to be responsible these plans were well planned out in advance so far if there's 2500 people that means you are making 250000 get thrown away I can't believe you SCAD! Be more professional

I believe there are better ways to fix this situation that don't involve changing everyones plans for the vacation. I already bought tickets to my country and it will be extremely hard for me to change my plans now. I suggest to have class friday and saturday this month in order to recuperate the classes lost due to the hurracane evacuation.

It's very easier said than done the fact we have to change our plane tickets. I have an internship back in my country that starts November 23... what am I supposed to do now? I feel very sorry this has happened of course, but there are other ways to solve this. In total we are going to miss 6 days of class, why can't we recuperate those clases on Fridays and Saturdays three weeks straight? Please, please reconsider this, please.
