I'm really grateful for what SCAD did during the hurricane time. But extend classes is unacceptable. As an international student, winter break is the only break that I could go home to meet my family and friends.

I'm a SCAD alumn and when we had the summit meeting in Savannah, we just had a few Fridays to make up for lost time and keep us on schedule. It was not a big deal at all. This decision is going to throw off so many plans, and will intimately hurt both your students and staff. Please reconsider extending the quarter to make up the lost time. Add some Fridays and keep on track. This will be far less disruption than shifting the quarter.

I am graduating at the end of this quarter (well, hopefully graduating, seeing as things are going), and immediately moving away from Savannah. I will no longer have a place to live in Savannah after November 16th. I can't afford the extra travel or plan cancellations. Please reconsider your "solution".

Just use the Fridays to make up classes and be creative with modifying homework.

I would more greatly appreciate having the Fridays and Saturdays as makeup class days instead of extending the quarter due to travel plan conflicts. I hope that SCAD would be more forgiving to international students and allow us to finish the quarter through other means like online.

I have to go to Dallas, Texas to work on post production sound for a feature film I worked on this last summer. I will be gone past the time when school is supposed to pick up and I will be home in Michigan for Christmas. There is no way I would go to Dallas and then back to Savannah before going home to Michigan. Weekend make up days until the end of the quarter would work better than this terrible idea.

What happened to the customers always being right?? SCAD, please listen to the now thousands that have signed this petition and voiced their individual issues with the decision to extend the fall quarter. There must be a better solution that doesn't incite conflict with so many students and/or parents, a majority of which are paying large sums to not only transport education-seeking minds to Savannah, but also cover their room, board and tuition at SCAD. If the Atlanta schedule can be adjusted to hold make-up classes within the original timeline of the quarter, the Savannah schedule can certainly follow suit.

You are asking some people to fly back to savannah for just three days of school after thanksgiving. That's an additional expensive flight for three class days.

I was planning on using my break to fly home to Chicago where I'd work my first and second jobs that go solely to pay for scad, and spend thanksgiving with my family and time with my boyfriend, who has his last leave slot in 18 months and may deploy shortly. Because of this decision I won't be able to afford a ticket home for both thanksgiving and Christmas break and will miss all of this.

Good morning,
My Friend goes to your school and she's coming all the way from Bridgeport, Ct. Keeping her away from her friends and most importantly her family isn't fair at all. The hurricane was a natural disaster that none of the students nor staff had control over, so for you guys to take a way their thanksgiving break is ridiculous.

I would greatly appreciate it if SCAD could move make-up classes to Fridays, or hold any post-Thanksgiving classes/requirements in an online forum.

This is a major financial set back for students, and should be reconsidered!
