Referendum To Maintain Original End Of Fall 2016 Quarter

I hav already make the holiday plan before3 months. If SCAD change the plan,my friends my family and me are all need to change our plan and also the ticket. It will spend so much money.

This is ridiculous that we have to reschedule.

Hello, My mother parchases my tickets tome for the 18th Of november. I live in Ecuador, which is very far from Savannah and my plane tickets are over $1500. I cannot simply buy a new ticket, nor can I change the reservation because the airline will charge me between $400-$650 to change, and I do not have the money to do that. I beg you to help us students with this scenario, since the solution you presented thus far will not be an option for me or the rest signing this petition. Thank you for your time, Maria.

Maybe options of submitting final projects online without needing students to be physically present would be better. I have already made travel plans to get home, it would cost a lot of money to change this.

It would be better to make up classes on fridays and saturdays for 3 weeks instead of messing with current students plans especially if they've already had tickets booked

I've booked my flight, and can't refund, more important, I've scheduled my whole plan…please don't delay the winter breaking. I'd weather to have class on weekend.

While I understand that classes need to be rescheduled, there has to be a better way to reschedule the lost classes. The current plan is impractical and would cost students in non-transferable plane ticket fees. It is also impractical to have students leave for the thanksgiving break, and then immediately return for a few days before the first of December.

I understand there has been a lot going on with this storm but these dates are unacceptable. It has been a financial burden due to self evacuation and now I will be loosing the money paid for her airline tickets home.

I got a nephew this quarter and I haven't see my aunt for three years!! As an international student I really don't wanna lose this chance to get back home. I've already book my unchangable ticket and can't afford to buy another one. Please don't extend the quarter until Decembet!!

Please reconsider! Many colleges have online courses - maybe assignments/exams during the last two weeks could be adapted to work in this manner.

This would cause me to miss out on over $1,000 that I would normally make at work over this break. This money is crucial for me to continue to attend SCAD

I already bought the airplane tickets and will go back to China. If I change the plan, i will lose my money!

As a international student, I really don't want to have class after Thanksgiving Day. I have my own home to fly back!

Please consider making up on Fridays and going two days into thanksgiving break for finals week.

I already bought my tickets back to China. I must go home! I have very important event at the end of November in China. It's better to take additional classes every Friday during the rest of this quarter!

Not only am I graduating this quarter(so finding my graduation date pushed back after being here for 4 years is upsetting) but also as this is an international school this is thoughtless of the thousands of students that have already purchased their flights home. Classes can be made up on Fridays. There are other ways to go about this seeing as it was scads decision to close down for an extra week. We could technically start back up this Wednesday. There is enough hurricane damage cleared and the panic has ceased.

This new plan is just not workable. Students are mostly willing to do Friday and Saturday classes if needed. Personally, I can't afford to fly home twice within 2 weeks to a destination 1000+ miles away just to have an extra week for finals. I get that this was not planned and it is in SCAD's best interest to still give students the ability to go home for thanksgiving, but requiring us to return the week after is mostly just preventing students from going home due to financial reasons, or messing with flights and plans that have previously been booked/assigned.

This is the most unthoughtfull decision that has ever been made! We have flight tickets and dates to be back home! Please CONSIDER this!
