Referendum To Maintain Original End Of Fall 2016 Quarter

Oct 10, 2016 I have bought the tickets and could not change or cancel. Maybe we can have class at Friday to Sunday！

Airplane tickets are expensive. As an international student I know that it's not easy to change flights and it's not fair to make everyone pay a lot of money to change their flights. And remember that a lot of students haven't seen their family for a few months and that's a huge sacrifice

Honestly the main thing that I'm having trouble dealing with is figuring out how to work around the small break in between finals. I would much rather just work some fridays AND extend a couple days after the quarter. I've already gotten plane tickets for Christmas and I don't have the money to fly home then fly back to scad then back to home. Really hoping there is some other compromise that can be done. Thanks for all the stuff scad has done so far.

What about international students who booked their tickets already/ are going to spend probably an entire week doing nothing and wasting time they could have been at home and paying a lot of money to go home for only four weeks?!

I already booked the flight tickets. It can't be changed!!!

I have already bought my flight ticket to meet with my parents on 21th November. And the ticket can't endorse.

Travel arrangements

This needs to happen.

This is very difficult for most of the students to handle. Plane tickets and travel plans to go home have already been made, and can't be changed easily or often at all. A simple solution would be for each professor to cut one project from each class, or pare it down significantly, and it would easily catch everyone up.

They can have friday classes or extend the amount of time each class has.

As an international student, this is highly inconvenient and not the logical solution in my eyes. It does not make sense to keep students and faculty for an extra two weeks, as opposed to utilizing the upcoming Friday classes, or making some classes online.

I understand that SCAD wants to make up the time we lost. I really do. But this just isn't an option for the vast majority of students. We can have Friday classes (personally, I wouldn't even mind having Saturday classes), and the last week could be held online. I know personally how difficult it is for international students to change their travel arrangements (if even possible at all) and even for me (I travel between Philly and Savannah) the cost of changing the flights my mother booked MONTHS in advance would be immense (because hello, Thanksgiving is one of the most expensive times of the year to travel!) To the people actually reading the comments: email the chairs of your departments and complain, ask questions, do what you can. You can also email the dean of students at [email protected].

I am going to have to travel back and forth from Savannah to Delaware so many times. This will cost a lot of money for me and my family.

Please consider make ups on Fridays and weekends. Students must finish Scad Program by November 17 to avoid flights cancelation, Dobble expensive tickes. Family plans, jobs.
