I totally understand SCAD's situation. If we can finish our class schedule before Thanksgiving, it would be helpful for most of the students. My parents will arrive at New York on Nov.27! They can't speak English. They may get lost if I am not there! We already booked the hotels and airplane tickets for the next two and half weeks.

It is not fair that all of the SCAD students, including myself, have already paid our traveling expenses and now this is happening. Unless you refund ALL of us then I do not see how this is either reasonable or fair.

I believe extending the quarter would cause undue hardships to most students at SCAD Savannah. Especially any student who flies home and has already booked tickets. I would urge SCAD to get creative and rework the class assignments due to Hurricane Matthew.

Absolutely unacceptable. This isn't high school, students live all over the world and have booked flights. As a transfer student from Boston I've had over a week of missed classes due to snow days and did not have to make any of them up. Professors should be given the option on what they want to do and offer a solution to students who can not stay such as online classes or teaching on fridays.

Please don't extend the classes after Thanksgiving, my whole family already bought the airplane tickets and booked the hotels, it is not easy for all of us changing the plans, please don't extend in holidays

This is not only inconvenient but also inconsiderate and unacceptable. The school did not consider international students at all when they made this decision. The round trip tickets are thousands of dollars and impossible to cancel. We would rather keep our original deadlines on projects than to comply to this new schedule that made solely by the school without speaking to students about it.

We don't have the money to travel twice, just take our Fridays!

I'm going to Japan from November 23rd to December 3rd and I got the tickets according to scads original schedule. I'd much rather have 5 day school weeks to compensate than the decision that they made. The tickets and accommodations were well over $7000 and to have to cancel that due to a spontaneous decision isn't acceptable.

This much extra time is not necessary. it also throws off family plans, bought tickets, and international travel plans that are already set in place,

I have bought the tickets and could not change or cancel. Maybe we can have class at Friday and Saturday!

This conflicts with two different sets of travel plans for me. Furthermore, I don't believe it's necessary to go back for an extra week after we take exams.

I have several commitments scheduled for the time of proposed return that have been in the works since before the summer. I can't afford to change flights and reschedule or, in some cases, cancel events, some that have a hefty cancellation fee or other significant consequences. I would hate to miss any of my amazing classes at SCAD, all of which have been inspiring and extraordinary, but there is no other way for me to navigate this infuriating situation. I count myself lucky that I do not have a job that I would have to worry about but I do know many, many students who work Black Friday who cannot afford to fly back home and then back. I appreciate that Hurricane Matthew was unexpected and created a huge interruption in this quarter but after such a traumatic ordeal, the only thing we students want is a well-deserved winter break without a repeat of stressing about how to get home and be happy and safe with our families. I still have an immense respect for SCAD and I appreciate everything that they offer but this is just simply not the way to handle such a situation.

I've already bought my plane ticket and i cannot afford to change it. SCAD needs to stick to original fall schedule

I believe we shouldn't have this schedule. I have already purchased a ticket home that is nonrefundable and it is cheap compared to our international students.

I already have two travel plans and can't canceled. It's unfair to have that much days to force us to stay at Savannah.

The extension of the fall term is extremely unreasonable decision. I'm also extremely disappointed in SCAD's lack of swiftness to transfer this issue to students as soon as possible, especially those who have already made preparations and booked tickets to return home. If it "IS"possible I agree that scad should find a better solution than this to support its students.

Already have a plane ticket for my son which is expensive. Cannot afford a $200 change fee plus fare difference on Delta. I'm a single parent.
