In 30 yrs living on the canal, I have never seen such a mess. It needs to change and get our waterways managed properly and professionally .

As a new boater I cannot believe that money is spent on towpaths and opening old canals when the current canals are so poorly maintained

Most of the managers that I have met seem to be incompetent and unable to manage what resources they have but the man or woman at the grass roots seem to know what they are doing.

We have owned a boat and paid into the system for 16 years. It is shocking to think the CRT are not protecting our heritage and they aren't!

CRT obviously don't want anyone actually on the water except hire boats. CRT are going to make the lives of live-aboards on the canals a living hell if they institute the proposed changes to the licencing terms. In addition the lack of maintenance of the canal and most of all the neglect of the vital facilities on the canal like pump outs, water points and refuse collection is criminal and yet they are paying their top exec nearly £200,000 salary. We should have a massive reduction in our licence not increases. It is pretty obvious they are targeting live-aboard boaters to try to drive them off the cut. In addition, out of a 12 month licence, this year I was unable to move due to stoppages etc for 8 months 1 week 2 days. Ridiculous!

The waterways are an integral part of our heritage and history, they must be protected and used by the people of the land for businesses as well as pleasure.

CRT a disgrace. They're busy giving priority to cyclists and spending money on cycle paths while locks and gates are in a state of disrepair
