Refer Canal & River Trust to govt for failures to maintain uk inland waterways

I've never seen the waterways in such a dreadful state. 0 dredging for years, broken locks, absolute contempt for the boating community, especially during Lockdown. CRT should be hauled over the coals!

Very poor care and maintenance in and around lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

Are rivers and canals are in a poor state.. money is being wasted on none boating thing's

Been on canals since 1991 but since CRT took over from British Waterways the deterioration of the infrastructure has accelerated markedly

The canal and river trust , have demonstrated near contempt for their boat owning clients . Licence fees continue to rise and yet essential maintenance, both above and beneath the water is being avoided , in leu of spending money promoting the use of towpaths for non contributory users such as walkers and cyclists . In my view the management of the inland waterways should be returned to government and included in the national transport infrastructure, as Canal and River Trust have proved to be , not fit for purpose.

They rely on the Environmental agency and tbh the amount of revenue that they get then more should be done imo

CRT have consistently left our waterways in total decay & disrepair. They have taken the licence fees of thousands of boaters while locks have fallen into disrepair . It should be illegal to furlough staff when fat cat bosses are taking massive salaries and fee paying customers are suffering from a service in a state of collapse. Shame on CRT

Fed up with the amount of silt on the Oxford canal, struggle to get off and on our mooring, and lots of boats grounding..

It's about time the UK Government woke up to the fact that the inland waterways (canals and rivers) are an asset to be properly taken care of by the State and not by a so-called 'charity' with its umpteen privately profiteering subcontractors - no other country in the world has such a system with its unique history. The waterways bring benefits to all the cities, towns and villages they pass through, not least in the form of tourism, both domestic and from abroad. The wastage of finances by the Canal & River Trust, such as producing silly 'duck and dog' signs along the towpaths, and the completely unnecessary recent redesign of the CRT logo, rather than investing in adequate maintenance (eg. dredging of the canals), should be questioned. Removal of waste and toilet facilities for boaters is not in keeping with the serious issue of public health.

The service on the Inland Waterways is disgraceful considering what we pay in licence fees. Locks not being operational, and refuse and toilet/shower facilities for boaters being taken away, not to mention complete lack of dredging in some areas to lock approaches.

The Inland Waterways are deliberately being downgraded, but the costs to the boater are going up.

Prices keep increasing while the service, maintenance and repair is severely decreasing. If a customer tries to make contact with anyone in the organisation, it is almost impossible, they just won't speak to anyone. It beggars belief that they can claim to be a charity working on the boaters behalf.

I have no confidence in how crt are running our canal system, no maintenance at all being carried our, cost of licences going up year on year! No dredging being carried out! Ect ect ect!!

Need to wake up to what boaters want and expect for their outlay

It's time they were held accountable

Unfortunately from a boaters point of view we get very little for our fees , and very little seems to get spent of proper maintance of the system, and day to day facilities are very neglected

Crt are a joke, no maintenance but bonus for directors
