I understand the canal and river trust have given money to the people that hold the lease to our mooring but nothing has been done with it, and they do not seem to be taking action. The banks are falling away.

£2 billion and the network is in a worse state since they gained control.
The rate they are asset stripping it means there won't be much of a network left.

It's a worry to think where all the money is going. The breakdown of costs from last year was appalling. More and more licences being paid for, with increase in London Boats, yet no increase in number of services, dredging, bank maintenance, winding holes, etc. Rapidly declining state of affairs. Very worrying.

CANAL and River Trust has seen income in excess of 2 billion pounds since 2012. Looking at the present state of the system, it's hard to believe. Where's the money gone?

Worried that C&RT or not going to keep the canals open and then depart when they realise they cannot do what they are paid a lot of money for.

Recently cross that CRT have sacked people due to the viruscwhen those employees could have been actively employed maintaining the waterway system

C&RT care more about getting walkers,cyclists and fishermen to visit the waterways than looking after the infrastructure. The people who use the Evers and canals and pay a considerable fee for doing so seem to be given the least consideration.

Sick of paying shed loads of cash towards an organisation that have more intrest in finding excuses towards ignoring genuine concern expressed by boaters regarding the canal network & its lack of maintenance

We can't move our boat it's stuck in the mud, the CRT say it's the farmers responsibility to dredge it ??? I mean what farmer has a dredger ? he'll have to jump in with a spade

Something needs doing soon especially up north the Rochdale is in a right state such a shame as it goes to Liverpool docks

Discussing waterways. Ammeneties either destroyed. Removed or never there in the first place.. Quick to take payments but not so quick to use it on what matters

CRT should have maintained a crew to take care of essential maintenance and repair to locks and infrastructure during the lockdown procedure.
On the River Trent we have many silting up problems that are a danger to navigation left over from the winter flooding problems that are still affecting navigation.
The highways department kept our roads open and usable during lockdown, as did many essential businesses, and despite all this, we still cannot speak to the CRT directly, it seems they are not back at work ,YET.
