There is no maintenance at all

It’s about time C&RT did something about our appalling and failing canal system. Since taking it over from British Waterways it has fallen into a bad state with lock gates collapsing and weeds making navigation almost impossible in some areas. About time they took responsibility for their failing service! Funny though they are well on the ball for taking it off the boaters who live on the system

About time, CRT should be reviewed of the way they DO NOT take of our HISTORIC CANALS. Have no time or no help! for the boaters. Its All about taking our money. Bullies the lot of them. Should never have been allowed to take the place of British Waterways. They maintained the Locks ect; The money goes to the Big Wigs. Corruption!! Get Rid, Canals are in such disrepair, before its too late.

Despite a winter stoppage program there are major lock failures stopping navigation for boats on the Grand Union South within sixteen miles of each other. Also, pump not working so major water shortages causing navigation restrictions.

CRT need to keep waterways clear and clean

Due to lack of maintenance by CRT on the River Witham it cost me over £500 in damaged props.

Just too many failures in management, governance, and service deliverance to ignore.....

CRT should get rid of two out of three of their management, double the salary of the third and tell him/her to earn it or be replaced. They'd get a much higher quality applicant with that salary level and possibly appoint a manager who could manage. They could then stamp out the corruption which appears endemic in the manager/contractor relationship and force the contractors to do what they're getting paid for.

As a boater trying to move around the system, the amount of stoppages - at very short notice (such as water management issues ) that really should have been spotted before things got too bad, is scary ... the water management team is clearly incompetent

It is now more than 8 years since the care of our national asset was entrusted to CaRT, and it is well past the time when it is essential for an in-depth government review of the situation.

The infrastructure needs urgent work before it becomes too late.

I'm totally sick to death of CRT all they seem to do is take lots of money off us boaters and they do nothing in return. Living at Boston Lincolnshire is like living at the end of the world for us,we have to pay for the whole year to use the River Witham but it's only possible to use it 6months if we are lucky because of the amount of weed or it floods or because they drop the levels to low and this is what we pay hundreds or thousands for. Please can someone do something about these modern day thieves

It’s disgusting the way boaters are being bombarded with extra costs .for the money we pay year in year we end up not being able to sail because of the lack of maintenance provided by a charity/ company who is more interested in people walking and cycling the canals that also don’t pay a penny towards the upkeep

I'll be very interested to see the outcome of this and justification for where the money has been invested.

The decline has been increasing for a while. Winter stoppages do not prevent things from collapsing during the summer and causing delay after delay.

It appears like many charities, some fat cats get alot of money for something they know nothing about while the minions get very little or nothing to keep everything running.
