Refer Canal & River Trust to govt for failures to maintain uk inland waterways

Sadly CRT show little ability to maximise funding from ALL towpath/canal users. There should be a kind of “forever tax” that developers who buy and build on CRT land pay for upkeep of the canal, locks, bridges, towpath, canal walls, etc; councils need to pay/raise money for the part of the canal that go Rd through their ward/borough.

CRT are laxy with keeping our waterways safe. Yorkshire Magneteers are willing to assist with removing dangerous items free of charge no liability to CRT we have our own insurance, but they have refused.

The crts administration is appalling, their staff rude a d their maintenance programme? An abysmal failure all at public and customer expense they seem to forget the canals were built for boats, notjust fishing and liesure.

Making our lives harder it’s criminal

canals are in dire need of maintenance and repair and dredge ellesmere port constantly keeps being choked with aqua lily leaves and props are getting fouled with the junk chucked in canals the length and breadth of the uk security cameras and probably neon or some sort of lighting would be a good idea to reduce thefts from boats,, also some purple think it's hilarious to purposefully set boats adrift as people go about their day, I'm not talking about speeding necessarily but rather people being petty and deciding perhaps as people sleep to untie their ropes and push em out thinking it's hilarious so hence some sort of enhanced lighting and security would be great

Canal & River Trust are only interested in making money so they can pay their top brass big bucks. Therefore they only maintain the waterways in the affluent areas and the deprived areas just get neglected and left to rot.

Something needs to be done

The waterways are in such poor condition very poor maintenance just fire fighting money is spent on tow paths for cyclists cutting back verges which is often unnecessary and the contractors they use are like vandals cutting litter and beer cans into millions of pieces which is so bad for the environment. The wildlife that would thrive at the side of the canals have their habitats destroyed. The infrastructure is falling apart and it’s won’t be long at this rate before the canals won’t be navigable

C&RT are not fit for purpose. The water ways and boater facilities are a disgrace

I believe some of their practices to be illegal.

CRT are not fit for purpose, the state of our waterways has declined over the last 10 years or so, glossed over by fancy websites, chuggers and never ending rebranding. Never has so much been wasted by so few.

CRT need to start being held to account for the terrible way they mishandle the canal system.

Disgusting how they are letting the waterways fall into disrepair whilst the management line their pockets

Traveling the rivers we had seen the failings by the CRT to maintain our waterways which we pay for

CRT should be ashamed of themselves....

Appalling service , stuck in Goole .Aire and Calder blocked , Selby blocked, and now Trent blocked and still want full license.Disgraceful.

CRT are one of the reasons I gave up living on my boat after 13 years, it is no longer a pleasure with paddle boarders, canoists, other cheap blow up boats on the water. After nearly crushing a canoe trying to force it's way into a bridge hole I was 3/4 of the way through, did it for me - a tragedy waiting to happen

CRT are letting everyone down.

The system is crumbling before our eyes been narrow boating for ten years it's getting worse no skilled labour and selling off properties to make ends meet not good business sense

Lets action against paying fees untill repairs are done. If we cant navigate we dont pay fees.
