Red/White Week is a time honored tradition of duPont Manual High School. For many, it is the best week of the year. The themes are always up for debate, and while they have changed every year, three have always stayed the same: Doomsday, class theme day, and costume day.
As it stands right now, the themes for this Red/White Week are as follows:
Monday: Pajama Day
Tuesday: Dynamic Duo (Twin day)
Wednesday: Class Theme Day
Thursday: Dooms Day
Friday: School Spirit Day
Many upperclassmen are upset about breaking the tradition of wearing Halloween costumes to school. They have also voiced concerns about twin day not being practical, as everyone has different schedules, and no one will be with their "twin" for the majority of the day. They have asked that we change twin day back to costume day, as tradition stands.
Pajama day isn't really a theme that you can go 'all out' with, but costume day a student can wear an outrageous outfit or maybe a not so outrageous costume, but each student will be demonstrating their school spirit in their own way. Pajama day boxes students in and doesnt allow for this individual expression. Please take my thoughts and my clasmates thought into consideration and go Crimsons! PS: I have never been a huge fan of twin day, but really enjoyed America Day and from what I heard, Decades Day (dress in style from different decades, 60s, 70s, 80s etc) was a really good theme although i was in 8th grade when it last happened. This is just my opinion though, thank you for reading!
