Hope Tayeb Al Baker understands that it’s not too late to do the right thing. As parents, we understand that you may be a cash strapped business owner. You may have made some bad investment decisions across ANC Holdings’ portfolio. We understand that Kings is a cash cow for you - perhaps not all its branches, but at least one or two. You may need cash from Kings to support your other businesses. We understand. But please understand that if you don’t do the right thing now, then Kings risks suffering a body blow to its reputation and lose its position as one of your most cash generative businesses. Hope you have the wisdom to take a short term cashflow hit now in this Term 3, so that you may protect the longterm franchise value of Kings for years to come and that it continues to be a crown jewel in your expansive portfolio of businesses. Discount on school fees

Fellow parents of the Kings community; I am signing this petition NOT with the view of seeking a discount on the term fees because my children are not going to school, hence they will not be utilizing the facilities. To be clear, that is NOT why I have signed this petition. My reason to sign is very clear. The school(s) must deliver what was promised in terms of how they will teach and what the children will learn. In a letter dated 2 April 2020, Mrs Gary, Director of Education, was very quick to point,” These are truly unprecedented times. As professionals we have had our educational philosophy stretched in so many ways; every day we have to think beyond the obvious and we have never reflected more on our ethos for education as we do now.” In the current scenario, or “unprecedented times”, what does that mean as a parent? In simple words, (a) we are having to pay for your educational philosophy (b) which has been stretched in so many ways; by that we having to do your job of teaching the children (and yet pay you in full for it), (c) every day we have to think beyond the obvious; in other words, uploading assignments on seesaw for primary children to understand with the help of a parent at home or work and (d) we have never reflected more on our ethos for education as we do now; meaning we still need you to pay in full regardless because you have overhead costs, which certainly are not the responsibility of the parents. To quote a line form the Kings’s website; “the way children are taught is as important as what they learn.” What I mean by that is a teacher needs to teach the child. With the current Seesaw approach, the school is merely assigning tasks and asking that an adult assist the child. The school and the KHDA have completely missed the fundamentals of educating. All parents will agree, the adult in question is either a working parent(s) who must “work” to earn the salary to “pay the fees”, or a stay home parent who is trying to help bu

I do understand that the school has obligations as salaries and stuff .. but a slight discount of 20% is reasonable for both sides.. as school facilities are not being utilized

I totally agree I have written and complained to KDHA I have also written to Rebecca gray head of education and she has not even responded

We have shared our views in emails, and now here. kings should offer a blanket refund of a reasonable amount of the T3 fees immediately

I appreciate the effort of bursary application but the information requested therein is beyond my understanding! the fact is , we as parents are paying for services and presently we are not receiving the services in full. hence the fees has to be adjusted accordingly.

The fees should be fairly reduced for term 3. What we are getting from home learning is not worth of full term fees.

Considering the current situation most of us are affected in many ways and I think Kings Education should look at from parents point of view as well. Thanks

Kings should show its values and seek our loyalty vs some extra profit going to the owners' and Management's pockets. We expected you to lead all schools by example, but you have let us down! You have a chance now to do the right thing and provide a proper blanket discount with an apology for your humiliating emails to the parents!
