A school is a community. It is specially during difficult times that the community should support each other naturally and with care.
As a parent of the school who have always supported with enthusiasm the school initiatives, it is disheartening and greatly disappointing to have received the letter that was sent with regard to no support. The tone and conditions to apply for support made it very clear that Kings is not here to build a “community” but only to enrich its pockets.

We have 2 children in King’s School DUBAI. We are JEWELLERY traders working in Deira, which has shut down since the past month. This means zero trading and zero revenue and on top of that we are struggling to cover basic expenses in these tough times. Therefore we request you to consider a substantial discount and refund against our fully paid fees for term 3. Thanking you

The fees charged by Kings for its term three it’s just not justified in terms of the teaching method . Whole of the teacher’s work has been shifted to parents , my twins , 5 years old in FS2 , it’s not easy with this age to give them
Work and go away and do some other house hold chores , with this age it’s one to one and taking my 6 to 7 hours a day . At least for FS either they end the term or must give some good discount . As schools daily cost is also reduce , reduce electricity water bills , no swimming classes , no celebrations and no school supplies used for children . Fees charged should be justified enough what as parents we are receiving , as per the contract FS is PLAY based , we can not provide that environment to our kids at home . Other schools showed fees is already half of kings , those and we ( kings parents ) are teaching same our kids in same way then why so much charge , we are not equipped or trained as teachers . Please think of FS children and work load on their parents .

Discount in fee is desired in the current unprecedented situation, similar to what other major schools have followed.
Fairly speaking, school’s fixed cost (to some extent) and variable cost has been drastically reduced. This warrants to pass on some benefit to the parents.

Kings management is insulting parents by asking them for a bank statements for their accounts to be applied for a reasonable discount . Although it is a clear equation, the school saved money from unused facilities and resources, so it is time to give it back to parents who paid for it in advance.
