Waking up at 5:30 to check the news just to find out everything is shut down for a light dusting is getting real old. Stop being so cautious it hurts the students.

Enough with the closures over a little bit of snow. My kids fall so far behind because of this.

Ridiculous that we have to deal with this every winter. Other boards handle the weather just fine. Get it together YRDSB.

Seems like the issue has been resolved given today's (March 29th) message from YRDSB. I'd like to believe that this petition played some role, as I've sent it to YRDSB, but it's likely just a coincidence.

Closing all schools when a small percentage of kids need bussing is illogical and contrary to the ideology that your policies and those of teachers’ unions are in the best interest of students. You also need to redefine your definition of what constitutes “inclement “ weather . The Catholic Board of Ed. Kept their schools open so am I to infer that they care less about student safety or that they care more about students’ education and well being? I’ll go with the latter.

Schools closed with no reason most of the time . Cold weather, snow , rain absolutely normal for the North Country such as Canada . Kids with special health needs distracted with routine interruption . It is very hard to make the arrangements when notified at 6 a.m of schools Cancelation . It doesn’t make any sense why other schools boards open but not YRSB .
