Reduce the speed limit in Trull

Complete agree and would like to happen down dipford road too! People use it like its a race track

I would like to support 20mph restrictions AND parking restrictions on Church Road, to enable pedestrians to walk safely. The School, pre-school and The Church Community Centre produce high level of traffic. Pedestrians / cars / buses / lorries often find it difficult to get through because of speed and parking issues.

I also strongly support this petition. I often walk with my daughter to school and we experienced lots of potentially dangerous situations within past few years. We live a bit further and our only closest way to get to school is through Comeytrowe Road which has no footpaths and overgrown hedges on both sides. I have been hit by car mirrors! Speed limit there is also 30 mph. ..Children safety always should come first and I hope something at least will get done for Church Road & Wild Oak Lane in Trull but it would be lovely to look further to other dangerous spots.

I have felt this way about the traffic situation in Trull since I moved here nearly 6 years ago. The speed limit should definitely be no more than 20mph & additional signage would be very helpful. There is some frankly reckless driving down Wild Oak Lane with impatient drivers often attempting to overtake on the blind corner. I am a cyclist & use this route down to Musgrove where I work, and frequently feel the need to pull out in to the middle of the road to protect myself & oncoming drivers from potential collision. I very much agree with the comments already made about the safety of children & older people in particular and I strongly support this petition.

Living at 7 Church Road I have witnessed the speeding near the school

I go to Queen's College where the speed limit is 20MPH, my younger brother attends Trull school that has a 30MPH speed limit, my mother always complain about the safety around Trull school, i think public lives and safety should be treated equally. I urge the County Council to listen to us and our concerns and implement the 20MPH speed limit.

We live on Wild Oak lane and have been concerned by the growing numbers of vehicles driving at speeds not suitable for the road which is quite tight as you approach the village. With children regularly using the roads all week, we firmly believe the speed should be reduced around the central junction in the village

I live in Trull and I whole heartedly back this petition. I have witnessed many people driving way to fast in our village....please listen to our petition and act positively before something awful happens.

I live at 4A Church Road. Both the 30mph and school run parking make the road hazardous for pedestrians. In addition to Trull School, Trull Church Community Centre contributes to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Church Road has a large proportion of senior citizens afflicted by the infirmities of age. Those people are unable to move fast from 30mph traffic, and due to congestion from parking, emergency services vehicles may not be able to get through to the site if an accident.

When our grandchildren walk back to our house from school, the number of near misses that my husband and I see on Church Road and Wild Oak Lane is staggering, mostly by drivers passing through Trull. My husband takes the dog out down Church Road early in the morning, and he always grumbles about the lack of a speed limit around the school because of the speed the drivers come up Church Road rushing to get work in the morning.The roads are very narrow around the school and church, so a 20 mph limit is the very least that is needed The other schools local to Trull have a 20mph limit outside the school, why not ours?

As elderly people with mobility problems, crossing Church Road and accessing the village car park is sometimes hazardous because of the speed and unawareness of drivers. We strongly support the petition.

I am one of the parents who instigated this petition. Promoting and maintaining safety should be at the heart of all activities we undertake. "20mph limits exist outside of schools for a reason. Trull school should be treated no differently. SCC need to engage immediatly and meaningfully. Please dont wait for a floral tribute outside the school gates to urge you into action. ACT NOW.

Being a member of the emergency services I quite agree that it’s time to resolve the issue of speeding within the village of Trull and especially near to the local primary school. This is most likely to become worse in the future with further developments planned for the area. Action needs to be taken before it’s too late.

I lived on Wild Oak Lane and have seen so many close calls...very scary when so many young children walk down wild Oak Lane to Trull school.

My grandchildren attend Trull school and I have noticed that people driving around Wild Oak Lane and past the school do so much too quickly! There are no pavements in the area and children who mainly live locally have to walk or cycle on the roads to get to and from school (both Trull Primary and Castle Secondary schools) This problem is worse now that the nights are getting dark early too. Also visitors to the car park, the park and other facilities sometimes drive in too fast and as the entrance has no pavement for pedestrians it can be hazardous for children leaving school or going to the park! The whole area needs to be urgently reviewed!

Trull needs a 20mph zone for Church Road and Wild Oak Lane to support and encourage those who walk and cycle, including many children. Zones include measures to support the limit other than just signs.
