Reduce the speed limit in Trull

I live nearby and would be happy to observe a 20mph limit.

We moved to Trull in 1974 when the road was quiet and safe for my children to walk alone. I now fear for the safety of anyone walking in Church Road , the elderly are also particularly vulnerable. Please 20mph!!

I was surprised to learn that the speed limit outside the school had not already been reduced to 20mph and that is a matter that needs to be rectified urgently.

It should be reduced to 20mph ASAP. Kids safety is vital.

This limit should have been introduced years ago - the sooner the better !

I remember as a child, coming out of school and seeing a boy from another class being hit by a car, his body flying through the air, then hitting the windscreen before being thrown into the oncoming traffic lane, is an image that still stays with me today and I don't want anyone to witness that or even worse be the victim. It is a known fact that :- * If someone is hit by a car at 40 mph they are 90% likely to be killed. * If someone is hit by a car at 30 mph they are 50% likely to be killed. * If someone is hit by a car at 20 mph they are 10% likely to be killed. There is no need for such a small road in Trull to be 30mph although I fear that those who can do something about it in SCC will adopt their usual 're-active' approach to such an issue and wait until a child is hit or killed before doing what a sensible person would do and that is a 'Pro-active' approach to limit the risk of it even happening in the first place. I understand that may be far too logical for those in SCC.

Let common sense prevail and bring this in line with other schools. 20mph limit! Let’s not wait until It is too late!

Fully support the proposed 20mph limit outside Trull school.

Too many drivers going way too fast in Trull and surrounding lanes.

There should be a 20mph limit outside Trull Primary School and Preschool especially as there is already a 20mph zone further along Wild Oak Lane and past Queen's college

This is long overdue and it is a miracle a child has not been seriously injured on the road through Trull. We would recommend a restriction imposed down Church Road from The Owl Garage to at least the junction with Brookside Close. The road is particularly treacherous in work commuting hours at times with cars using the road as a cut through to the other side of Taunton.

Kill the speed not a child.

There should be a compulsory speed limit of 20mph near all schools

I feel this should go further and strive to stop all local parents from driving to school. DJM

This is hugely important for the community with so many young children around the village, the school, the park and the village hall, etc.

I have worked in Trull for over 14 years, it is frightening how fast people race through this village, even at school pickup and drop off times.

I fully support the bid for a new speed limit in trull. People drive far too fast in this tight village.

There should be 20 mph signs outside all schools

Reducing the speed limit and enforcing parking / stopping regulations is so obviously needed that anyone involved in administering this, or in a position of influence, should be ashamed that it hasn't already been done.
