We are the 8th grade at the Linden Steam Academy. We want to reduce plastic and add recycle bins. Reasons this issue about plastic waste is important are because in Massachusetts plastic pollution is a problem for coastlines. There are about 2 billion bags used in Massachusetts a year. At Linden, there is an issue with plastic being waste. This started because of the flu, since then plastics have been in the cafes. There are no recycling bins in the cafe and all the trash is thrown in together. Only About 25% of plastic produced in the U.S. is recycled, and Only 5% of the plastic we produce is recovered Signing this petition will make plastic safer for the environment.
