Some seats over near the old ferry terminal for seniors and others to take a rest when they have to walk so far to their parked vehicle. The old she'd has been fenced off so no cover from rain either. It is relevant to the parking issue.

The $8.5m could have been well spent to give us more parking on the main land, where it is much needed

My wife is disabled and although she has a disability sticker for her car she is unable to find parking closer to the ferry terminal and has to walk a fair distance often missing a ferry and having to wait for the next one. This makes her travel time even longer. She is studying to become a special aids teacher for children so as not to be a financial burden on Australia but the travel time including waiting time exhausts her.

Oh did you forget about the revenue from the secure area and the copious amounts of fines issued to people forced to park in the street

That also is a good idea but whilst that's being planned and sites decided on, in the short term there needs to be something done. Even parking in private areas is costly and still doesn't offer any better security

Have you counted all the cars that are parked at Redland Bay? One multi level car park wouldn't be sufficient and it would take years to build with all the planning approvals etc - we are still waiting for our PDA (Priority Development) almost 5 years on from when it was announced. I think it's time to stop sticking bandaids on the parking problems and decide right away to build a bridge within the next 10 years. Just think - not having to run two cars and not having to drive around and around to find a car park just to mention two things...

This situation is ludicrous. Residents are being forced to park in the street block's away from the terminal and being fined for it. Others are being parked in and having their vehicle's damaged and or broken into or syphoned. Women shouldn't be expected to walk to their cars 2 blocks away at night without some sort of cctv surveillance helping to keep them safe. Something needs to be done even if in the short term a security gard put on the gate of the empty secure parking so the empty spaces can be utilized by residents there is currently a 6 (six) year waiting list to get a park in that empty facility. It's beyond a joke and residents are fed up!

The parking is a joke. Being a family We both work so we have 2 cars on the mainland and have had plenty of parking tickets. if you can't get into a carpark you have to park on the street and at the end of the day after work it's impossible to find a park. I now pay $100 a month for one of our cars to park on a private block but can't offered to pay for 2 cars on this block. this cost plus parking tickets plus ferry costs plus the cost of rates going up is killing us in the pocket and we sometimes think what is the point of working and living in this community. The other day I got parked in by 3 cars in non designated car park spots. I couldn't get out and when I tried I couldn't get back in I was about to call police and see they could be towed so I could get out to go to a category 1 surgery health apt. Needless to say I missed it and had to reschedule. Due to this. 2 lovely gentleman come to my rescue helped me get out and they struggled too. So it wasn't just "women driving". It's just herendous the car parking plz do what u can to rectify these situations as next time I sure will be calling police and towy
