Renovating and repairing the existing buildings is the only way to keep the character and community that has developed in this place. An unsympathetic carbuncle would be uninteresting and divisive

The desirability of the area is gonna crumble thanks to these developers and their short-term, profit driven ideas. and noone is going to be drawn here, because what attracts people will have been taken away. Hence they'll be shooting themselves in the foot.

Its a beautiful building and should not be knocked down to make way for more characterless modern housing. It will ruin the area

object to PA/14/00262/FUL as it would contravene LLDC and all other relevant policies with regard to locally listed buildings in the Hackney Wick conservation area

There are lots of six storey flats though out the city of London. However there are few places such as the wick that keep these fantastic buildings in such use

New developments need to be done sympathetically to space, local context and people. This is not such a case.

Leave the structure as it is. Work around/with it. Have some respect for historic buildings.

Effective planning is not really a question of aesthetics. The erosion of the spatial and programmatic nature (as opposed to merely the visual identity) of the building stock which enables Hackney Wick to function in unusual creative modes is always going to be a step along the road towards cultural and economic homogeneity or even sterility and so should be considered a poor option by any planning authorities with any genuine sense that they are in stewards of the built environment with the interests of its occupants at heart. This application is an example of just such erosion and so I really hope it will be recognised as a negative change for the area and so rejected.
