no need to demolish well built and interesting buildings - reuse them - better for the environment, local people and our heritage!

A developer with emagination and a sympathetic approach to these historically interesting buildings, would be able to create ratlly nice new appartments without substantially destroying them and our history. As a local planning authority, have the courage to reconfirm all the policies, reject the application and make the developers "work harder for their bucks"!!

"London Legacy Development" is an oxymoron.... with an emphasis on the "moron" part! These buildings are the legacy that our forebears left us. "Developing" them is to destroy the pattern, the feel, the symmetry. This is a conservation area, for heaven's sake. CONSERVE it.

Hackney Wick is one of the few historic and interesting old industrial areas left in London. The character of these unique buildings needs to be retained.

Like many Londoners, I am tired of seeing attractive, historic buildings that blend with the local environment, destroyed by developers only interested in a quick profit. This City needs care and conservation - it's out heritage that attracts visitors and maintains the economy.

Buildings like this sturdy and adaptable. Be sustainable and sympathetic. Work with the assets you've got staring you in the face.

Fitzrovia Conservation Network (FCN) is very supportive of the efforts to save the Swan Wharf stable block and wall crane and retain the integrity of the former barge loading canopy; and have development in the wider area be sympathetic to the Fish Island & White Post Lane Conservation Area. The proposals are destructive of features of local interest, which make the canal side area known as being distinctive beyond Hackney Wick. It is worth bearing in mind that heritage buildings that FCN has campaigned to save are now marketed as being attractions by the same owners who sought their destruction. The London Legacy Development Corporation might wish to re-consider the marketing opportunities that these heritage assets provide. If not, politicians (too many of whom are careerists in hock to party patronage) should block this!
