People don't want more expensive flats that only wealthy outsiders. Local people want to retain and conserve the buildings that give our area its unique, historic character adn that made us want to live here in the first place. So tired of have to beg the Council to stop destroying the very assets it is meant to conserve. You are continually failing in your role as custodians.

This building is worthy of conservation and provides opportunities for the creative industries. These factors contribute to the areas unique character and identity on which the regeneration of the area should be built. The proposed redeveleopment would destroy that and be a missed opportunity.

Local areas like 'Fish Island' have character and interest. It is shameful that special places like this are being taken over by very standard off-the peg designs that might be located anywhere, and any visitor would look around and not know where they were. The location beside the famous and Lee Navigation is something special, and the importance of the waterway cannot be sidelined in the pursuit of short term financial gain which has no heart. This is enshrined inpolicy such as the London Plan that state that waterside developments should relate to the waterway (BRN Policy 7.24), yet developers get away without giving our wonderfl waterways a second thought - other than waterside properties generate an automatic 25% uplift in profits. They take from the character and importance of an area and asset but give nothing back.
