There is absolutely no reason this park should be any different than VOF or other National Parks. The proximity to Vegas and the crime level alone warrant a change to this.

2nd Amendement law, Nevada Law, CCW holders ... lots to discuss. Bottom line, there should be no difference between how you carry in this park than any other federal park.

It is incredible that law-abiding persons are not allowed to feel safe while enjoying the vast area of Red Rock Canyon. There are certainly not enough Rangers to patrol so many acres. Good people are faced with potential harm or even death at the hands of a criminal, and no way to stop such a threat.

Personal safety, exercised by a person who holds a valid CCW permit, should certainly be allowed. A person with criminal intent does NOT care about laws, including carrying firearms. To make trained, law abiding, and tax paying citizens from protecting themselves in the confines of Red Rock Canyon flies in the face of the 2nd Amendment.

I hike at RedRock all of the time. And I fear that the next time I encounter a mountian lion I won't be able to defend my family or myself. Having a firearm without a loaded magazine ready is like having a car and not having any fuel. At the bear minimum it should be change to a rule that Utah has, that essentially states you can carry loaded without around in the chamber. That itself is not a great solution, however you're one step closer to being able to protect yourself and others.

There is no reason for not allowing loaded carry either open or concealed as long as concealed carry conforms with permit requirements of the state. This is a clear policy of limiting the second amendment.

I understand that the goal is to protect the wildlife. However there are times and situations that unfortunately become life threatening to individuals and their loved ones when encountering an apex predator. We must decide if the life of an animal or the life of the citizenry is more important. Having the ability to openly carry a loaded firearm allows for quick access in an emergency and announces to park rangers upon entering that the person is a legal gun owner. At the end of the day this measure can save lives. A good way to regulate would be to have people watch educational videos upon entering for the first time to know how to better handle situations both with and without a firearm during an encounter with a dangerous wild animal. This is just common sense.

I feel its important to defend ourselves from harmful wildlife and to prevent law abiding people for being criminals simply on having the gun loaded vs unloaded. This is Nevada not California.

Being on Redrock property is beautiful and a great place to be, however it also leaves a person vulnerable to animals or criminal elimates who could use the remoteness of some areas in Redrock.
Please allow lawful Cary in accordance to state and local laws, or other blm properties for that matter. Only a law abiding citizen would follow such a foolish law leaving only the bad guys armed. Sings and rules don't stop bad guys, good guys with guns do.

No one should be subjugated to a crime or not able to defend themselves regarding less how low the the chances are. We should be able to defend families and ourselves in any place at any time regardless of it is a park or in front out our home.

As a law abiding gun owner I always check local gun laws and was shocked to see this loophole gun control for this outdoor rock.
