We use this site every week. Please keep it in New West - I don't drive so it would be impossible to get to Coq - would have to go into garbage not good for the environment.

It is very important to re locate the recycle depot within our newwest community. Having to drive our recycling over to wasttech in Coquitlam is hard on community members who rely on transit, and the risk of items now ending up in the landfill instead of properly recycled goes up due to the lack of convenience to get it there. surely the postage stamp that the yard sits on now can be re located elsewhere to properly serve our community and the high taxes that we pay

How can we ignore the need for a local civic recycling depot. Especially one that is so well run. We have to give an example to the young people;e who are expecting their city to be ecologically forward thinking. We need this more than a pool.

It's absolutely silly to think people will drive their recyclables to Coquitlam

Reminds one of when council proposed that Grimston Park should become the site of a new school! As with Grimston Park, it would behove council to dismiss this widely unpopular idea.

It would be a mistake to close this facility - there will be far less recycling as a result.

Please keep the New Westminster recycling depot (next to Canada Games Pool). If you do shut it down, I am afraid I will have no choice but to have tendency to throw those items that I used to recycle, into the garbage bin. I can't pile up recycling items in my home, and I am not willing to drive to Coquitlam to do recycling and besides, that center won't be ready in another year or two for goodness sake.

As it is close by it does promote recycling. Those who don't have vehicle will stop recycling.

I regularly make use of the New West recycle depot, and believe that all municipalities should have these sorts of services provided for their residents.

The intersection at Brunette and Braid is a nightmare to travel through at any time of day now, not to mention the section of road between Braid/Brunette and the bridge. Traffic is always backed up, even when there are no trains impeding traffic. Its human nature to avoid having to deal with aggravating situations like this. The city will have to budget for increased volumes of both garbage and recyclables. Instead of taking additional trips through traffic hell, I for one will be jamming my garbage and green bins more regularly. Soft plastics and Styrofoam will most likely find their way into garbage, and i am sure someone else will find value in the scrap metal that currently goes to the McBride recycling depot. Green bins will be filled to the top every time as the trips i would currently do myself will be banked until room is found in the bins. For goodness sake, please rethink this foolish decision to shut our depot down. Maybe the city could use a portion of the interest from the deposits taken to protect trees around construction sites to fund a new Canada Games site.

Don't close this without another one close by... already in place!

This council's failure to even discuss moving the recycling depot with the citizens (taxpayers) is worrying - Bill Zander and Frances Bickerstaff

there is no way I am driving to Coquitlam to recycle....our taxes in New West are the 2nd highest in the LM. making us drive to Coq is crazy. find another local spot for recycling for New West.....

depot needs to remain in the city and ideally in the centre for easier access for all residents

The inconvenience of the distance to the Coquitlam depot and the train/Brunette/Braid mess will mean people will be much less likely to recycle items
