Keep it here. The location is an issue because single-stream recycling works so badly. There should be only a small handful of types of stuff that must go to the depot.

Not a good idea for New a Westminstet residents.

This is a terrible decision. Sitting in a line up waiting your turn will not encourage people to recycle. Also what about the elderly and people who do not have cars to get there. Not helping the residents of New Westminster at all.

Moving the recycling depot makes no sense at all. We must keep it.....

I own Mila + Paige and I'm at the recycling depot weekly if not twice a week to drop off cardboard and the plastic bags that each item of clothing gets wrapped in. I don't need to make that a longer trip!

I love that we have a recycling depot by the Canada Games Pool and use it regularly. It’s like a symbol that Canada is doing their job to recycle. The people that work there are friendly, helpful, and educate people that visit. The convenience of the close location also helps our busy family to be diligent with recycling. I absolutely hate the idea of driving through traffic to get to Coquitlam and have to admit that people in general will not be as diligent if the convenience is taken away. I already drive an extra 15 minutes during certain times of the day if I want to go to Coquitlam because even local traffic cannot make a left hand turn onto Royal Ave, which costs me more money with our ridiculous gas prices and puts more emissions in the air. So the town is telling us to create more emissions in order to recycle. Doesn’t make sense. Keeping our Recycling Depot at it’s current location does make sense. Our recycling depot is friendly, helpful, convenient and a place that educates with personal interaction...something that big cities are losing. I’ve met a lot of New Westminster residents who strike up conversations there more than anywhere else in town. It’s one of the best ways to get to know the people of New Westminster that are like minded with caring about our earth. Why would you change that?

We live across town and use the depot frequently. We do not want to travel further or deal with added traffic. Keep it here please.

Please find a way to keep more recycling close to home or improve curbside recycling.

Moving the recycling depot creates more traffic/pollution in our already congested city. Keep our recycling depot, it's part of our community!

It’s not only a convenient depot that I really enjoy visiting, but also already an important part of our community.

I really rely on going to this recycle depot, as it‘s just minutes away from my home, and has become my weekly visit ever since moving to New West in 2010. With the friendly staff knowing me by face, it would be a huge disappointment and an inconvenience if this location shuts down. With the density of our neighborhood constantly growing, it would not make sense to close this location down.

How many recyclables will be thrown in the garbage because it's too much trouble going to Coquitlam?

If we have no recycling location in New Westminster I predict more recyclables will end up in the garbage.

I like a centrally located recycle depot. That's on a convenient bus line and close to other community services. This allows multi purpose trips. Getting more done for our time and not clogging roadways needlessly with multiple trips. Possibly seven days a week and hours conducive to the working public. As their families produce the most recyclable containers. Also a bit more effort by city management to seek out truer recycling options for the recycled items. Ie actually recycling locally and returning some value for the items. Encouraging school aged children about the importance of recycling. Also an education for all businesses on what they s/b recycling. A real effort by city management to reduce the fees charged for residential and commercial waste removal. Local city managers have to educate and emphasize these requirements. Just like our sewers were created long ago to remove bodily wastes. So must we create simple ways to assist the flows of other waste created through consumption.
