They should relocate it to the vacant city lot on 12th st near Royal.

For several reasons the recycling depot is a huge asset to the residents of New Westminster. The decision to close it has been poorly thought out, and from my vantage point is not supported by the residents of New Westminster.

This depot is absolutely a necessary service for residents of New West. Closing this service shows me that New West’s green initiatives are all TALK! Please do not close our recycling depot!

It seems to me the City should be able to find an alternate location for the recycling centre in New West. We pay very high property taxes here and this is a basic service!

I am sure the y voted 100% on this one also. No sober second thought?
I am in the recycling business so I know it well - I can guarantee that recycling rates will drop. People DEPEND on that site, including me. I can almost guarantee that I will recycle less because I will not have time to drive over to that new facility due to traffic. Makes no sense.

The council keeps choosing to make things harder for existing residents to pull in developers. It's time to knock it off.

More and more people will not recycling if they have to drive further to do it, city needs to change the decision!

If the recycling depot "cannot" be saved - and why not?! - the city must accommodate the pick-up of items like styrofoam and batteries and large cardboard in some other way. Going to Coquitlam is already a 2 hour trip by the time you wait in a weekend line-up after driving there, how much longer when all of New Westminster is expected to use it? I'll be needing a bigger black bin....

Recycling programs need to be accessible and community oriented. Removing the depot from the community will divert recyclables to the general waste stream

I believe taking the depot that distance from New Westminster is a mistake. We need both a new rec centre and space for recycling.

My family go to the recycling depot all the time. We don’t want to drive all the way to Coquitlam to do our recycling. Our city needs this depot.

I certainly will NOT be driving to Coquitlam to drop off recyclables. Absolutely not wasting my time or my precious gas and trying to visualize taking public transit to do so is absolutely laughable. We NEED to keep our local facility!
