How was this decision made? And how did the community miss this mandate by the council?

We need to keep it open or more waste will end up in land fills.

The New West recycling depot is an invaluable resource to ensure our city is doing her part in caring for creation. Can't believe there is not enough room on that property even after the tebuiild of the rec facility.

if this facility is closed, I will dump all my recycles into the garbage bin since the government does not support the concept and action of recycling and reuse

Where was the consultation? The Depot is a social gathering place New West. The staff are kind, helpful and dedicated and have relationships with all of us. They are "the face, the heart of the city. It can't be true it is abolished so pool employees can park? Really, what is wrong with the bus? How far are they coming? Why don't they live here. It would be greener and cheaper for the City, the employer, to pay for their bus pass? Then all of us to drive over the train tracks, over the bailey bridge and idle behind the discharging garbage trucks. I will not be voting for this city council if they follow through with its I'll conceived, pathetic plan. The planet is destruction, why are we helping it on its way?

Please don't close the recycling depot! - New Westminster already has our glass bottles going into the landfill, don't do the same with the rest of the recycling program and this important resource!

This is necessary for most of the New West populous seeing as they are either older couples who might not have the ability to go out to the next nearest depot or new families who dont have the luxury and spare time to make that kind of trek with how busy life is nowadays

This would be a huge step backwards for New Westminster. The garbage situation on this planet is at an absolutely critical stage. We need to be doing MORE, not less.

I dont want it to close because it's convenient, well organized ,clean, friendly staff and I can recycle stuff. Less to throw in garbage ( landfill).

All of New Westminster people are collectively outraged at the idea of not having a neighborhood recycling center.

Closing the recycling depot will have undesirable consequences. Please re-think this decision.

We use this recycling depot a lot. It would be a shame to lose it.

Would definitely like to have some resident consultation on this.

They should relocate it to the vacant city lot on 12th st near Royal.
