I use this place often and don't want to sit in awefll traffic to go to Coquitlam where I will probably be charged and pay extra in gas.

This service should be continued. We have been recycling and dropping off appliances, electronics etc for years. You will find waste dumped all over the community as people will not drive to Coquitlam and public transit for those that do not drive will not be available for desposing of large items. Please continue to service the New Westminster residents within our community

This place and it’s employees are so important to me! Kind, helpful, expert recycling handlers are of tremendous value and so is the convenience of taking care of recyclables in our own community!

This is one of the stupidest decisions yet by Council. Our Recyclinf Depot is one of the BEST things about New West. Right now we can quite easily and readily take our items in on a regular basis because my husband works out at Canada Games and I often find myself in that area for othe readons do it is a natural "multi-task" stop. Havinv to travel to the proposed new l8cation will mean fighting traffic at thay horrible intersection, getting held up by the train, burning way more gas and taking a lot more time and in general presenting a huge inconvenience. I thonk it will greatly reduce the amount of materisls being recycled because of this.

A ridiculous decision that flies in the face of the City's stated goals to pursue to encourage recycling and green initiatives. This will only encourage more recyclables to end up in landfills while increasing emissions from those who continue to recycle.

I have used this depot for my entire life and am so thankful for it’s close proximity to my home. I live on 8th Street and can drive to the depot in less than 10 minutes. They accept so many products we are no longer allowed to put into our curb-side bins like glass, styrofoam, and metals. These are common household materials which can quickly stack up and need to be recycled often. The central location of this depot for New West residents encourages recycling and separation of materials which will not be picked up during our weekly removals. Changing the location of this depot will make it more difficult for residents to access, discourage proper recycling/material separation in curb-side bins, and add more recyclable materials into garbage bins. Please reconsider the movement of this facility. The pool does not need this space to function, it has been fine without it. The residents need this facility in this location to continue to keep our city and environment cleaner.

Of course we need a recycling depot in New Westminster. If the location is the problem, then let's find a suitable alternative. To close it is a step backwards, and a disservice to the residents.

I cycle my recyclables to the depot and don't want to have to drive/pollute more by a location change.

If they would listen to their own employees suggestions the recycling depot would have a zero net cost to taxpayers. This decision is Increasing our carbon footprint

I feel like the decision to. I’ve the depot was not one made with the best interests of the city in mind.

We really need the recycle here, try to move it to the Justice Building parking lot, there's more than enough room there.

Don’t shut it down unless you have a ready solution in New West. Embarrassing

Great that you are are doing this as I would use and prefer to have a recycle center than have a new pool or more parking for a pool. I go there 1 to 2 times a week. It will cost me 10 times the amount of time to recycle at Coquitlam. I would be happy as a taxpayer in New west to pay extra taxes to keep this facility in New Westminster.

I make use of this convenient recycling depot on a weekly basis. I am very frustrated to learn that council has voted to close it down. If it were to close down I think there is no doubt that residents will end up putting more recycle-able waste in the garbage. The extra driving to Coquitlam will unnecessarily cause more carbon emissions for those that still choose to recycle and be an unnecessary deterrent to all New West residents to recycle the items that curb-side collection does not pick up.

All things are possible with the *will* to make them so. Let's keep our depot centrally-located in New West.

disappointing to see our local recycling depot being removed. I am all for saving it.
