Benefits of current location:
1. Very small foot print
2. Users do excellent job of self-sorting recycling streams
3. Amount of recycling in blue bins will soar if facility is closed - and it will not be sorted
4. Facility is very well used

I understand that there is a financial issue here and that fees have already been paid - it is too bad that citizens were no consulted. This is a well-functioning and well-used recycling station. It is accomplishing the purpose for which it was intended. The new arrangement, because of location, waiting in line etc., will not be used to the same extent thus defeating the purpose.

This is a valuable asset / service to our neighbourhood. If it is closed, people will either 1. not recycle or 2, ditch their recyclable on the side of the road making a mess and eye sore for the neighbourhood.

One of the reasons I appreciate living in NW is our recycling depot. Moving it not conducive to reducing our carbon footprint. I live the West End. A 20 minute round trip will turn into an hour plus, and what of our citizens who don’t drive? Don’t move our depot!!!

DON'T close down the recycle

What a ridiculous decision. It needs to be made easier, not harder. Or impossible. Come on. You expect people to take transit to coquitlam with their recyclables?

My neighbourhood needs this centre because accessing the coquitlam station can be very time consuming and difficult to access during business hours. A lack of access to the New Westminster depot will increase curb side dumping and other improper disposal practices.

This recycle site is so helpful. It should be a model for all Lowermainland sites. They have it centralized in New West. Then properly dispose using containers with many separated items. Even used car batteries or oil! Everyone changes their own oil. Polution stopped & convinience to citizens it unparelled with the great staff there. They helped me with old washing machines, a freezer and our busted dryer. My gosh, never close this? Best thing New West has done for all "locals"! Save the NW Recycle Yard! Please? It is convientent to have a local rcycling depot in New West. They are helpful and friendly.
I can walk across the street and not have to get a truck to disgaurd items
Please reconsider keeping it open

The proposed location would be inconvenient and hard to get to with all the traffic and the train.

Please do not remove our recycling depot. It is perfect as is. Having to go over the bailey bridge and 3 sets of train tracks and back is a horrible option. The traffic on Braid and Brunett is already atrocious - imagine all the people who use our current depot having to travel that route!!

The taxpayers if new Westminster should not have to go to the tri-citys transfer station to recycle.poor choice made by overpayed city counsel members.i am sure there is space available in Queens park.trying to save money is not good for a city that wants to portray that they are eco friendly.glass is being sent to landfills along with garden waste which could be turned into soil.you give yourselves a raise but make recycling difficult for many people in the Royal city.
