Don’t Let New West City Hall Put Our Recycling Depot in the Trash!

This is ridiculous! I use the recycling facility regularly and I believe that it is our community’s responsibility to continue to be part of keeping unnecessary recyclables out of landfills! People might choose to put their recyclables in the garbage rather than going all the way to the Coquitlam transfer station.

Why? Because it doesn't make money? Where do my taxes go?

If the recycling doesn't stay local I will no longer be recycling unfortunately not likely to hike over to Coquitlam

Please consult residents before making such a significant change.

Do not close this well used recycle depot. I know that I will not recycle like I do now if i have to go to another city to deposit my recyclibles. With so many new towers being built in our city lets not take something away that does make a difference to our city and the enviroment!! Listen to the people that pay your salary's!!

Why force us to drive even further? Where’s the green in that?

Why? Why would you shut this necessary community service down?

The Mayor and the council should try driving to UB dumpsite and dump recyclables during the rush hours. This facility which theyvare trying to shutdown is a motivation(easily accessible) for the people to recycle.

Local, established facility. Consider the cost of community members NOT participating in recycling due to leaving the city. What is our priority? No where else to relocate to? Where was the public consultation?

The recycling depot's current location is ideal and convenient. Being forced to head to the mega-dump in Coquitlam is not a good alternative.

Moving the depot to Coquitlam will be a problem for all New West residents, but particularly for seniors.

I am at the recycling depot all the time. The trip to United boulevard is time consuming and often includes waiting for a train. Not to Mention that the whole place is gross. I don’t have space to accumulate all the stuff the blue bin won’t accept so I will need to put more stuff in the garbage.

More items that are currently recyclable will find its way into the garbage. This is short sighted.
