One of the best things about new West is this ability and the fact you don't have to drive miles and miles to dispose of your large and small recyclables

Trying to forget something as intriguing as this would be an exercise in futility.

Along with the concerns raised in this petition, I am interested in maintaining the "small town" feel of New West as much as possible. I grew up in Vancouver, and have lived in South and North Burnaby as well as Port Coquitlam. I had no idea New West was, well, the way it is. It feels like a community, a small town that has survived sub urban sprawl. It is a Place unto itself. Please preserve this unique and preciously historical place by keeping, as much as is possible, our amenities here and local and small. It is the character and history of New West that gives it a distinct sense of place. If we move our amenities to large facilities in other cities, we will be on our way to being just one more geographical area on the map of the lower mainland defined only by the lines drawn thereon.
Going to the recycling depot in New West is not like going to other, larger depots. There staff here are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and recognizable. It makes me feel more connected to what I am doing, to our community and keeping it clean.
Local. Local. Local.
Please revisit this decision.

Lori Bender

Please keep the recycling depot. I use it very frequently to recycle glass. It is the only way New Westminster residents can have glad recycled since it is not allowed in the curb side bins.

To close the depot this is a horrible decision that I guarantee will haunt this council until the next election.

It's important to have this facility available in New Westminster; it's convenient and easy to get to for anyone who wants to recycle. It would make sense to keep it open since the alternate recycling place is too far
