We need that recycling centre! It is not sensible to expect people to drive to another city for recycling- it defeats the purpose when trying to save the environment involves commuting and traffic. People will throw away their recycling causing more weight and stress on the garbage trucks as well as increased fuel costs. Please reconsider!

At the current location, the recycling depot is very popular and well used service. Driving through the traffic snarled Braid Industrial area will be avoided. The traffic in this area sucks the joy from my life.

The proposed coquitlam sight would meen a extra 30min on a good day and 10 times the carbon emissions.

Families recycle a lot more because of the conscience of having the depot so close. Don’t take that away.

New West needs the recycling depot! My family started recycling SO much more because the depot wasn’t far away to recycle all the items at.

Aren’t we supposed to end global warming? Why are we closing own places hat help save our planet. This isn’t a way to help progress our city. This is an incentive for individuals to throw recycling in the garbage.

An increase in traffic and emissions does not support the initiative of saving the environment.

we agree that the city should have consulted the homeowners and users before making plans to move the depot

We use the recycling depot frequently and would find it very inconvenient to have to drive to a busy area of Coquitlam with our recyclables. I believe this is a step in the wrong direction and it will likely result in a decline in recycling.

If "tackling climate change" is really a priority for New Westminster, closing this recycling depot directly contradicts that goal. I do not support the closing of New Westminster's recycling depot.

Shame on mayor and council for making this decision behind closed doors and then directing staff to lie to residents, at public meetings and events, telling us that no decision has yet been made’.

A bad move to close the reycling depot. More recyclables will end up in the garbage.

Such a valuable and well utilized resource that will have a negative impact on our recycling tendencies if lost.
