The fact that UT doesn't recycle is one of the most unappealing things about UT and it is what I dislike most about the school. There shouldn't have to be a petition for this issue, the University should have been recycling ten years ago.

I agree. They also need more recycling in the dining facilities...they are using styrofoam and plastic, some of the worst pollutants.

I am a high school science teacher and have been on numerous college campuses. I find it quite surprising that UT doesn't have a recycling program. Colleges are normally progressive and forward thinking institutions.

Recycling isn't only good for the environment; it also shows we aren't in the dark ages as a university. It's good PR, good for the earth -- it's the responsible thing to do. Can't believe we don't have this already.
