I spent four years at UT working towards expanding recycling. It's a basic utility that most students expect and that most unis provide. UT needs to get with the 21st century and set a good example for future world leaders.

I think that is is ridiculous that my university does not have mainstream recycling on campus. Recycling has become such a common thing, so why should a university like ours not have it?

I don’t think it’s fair that it is so hard to recycle here on campus! Why waste something that can so easily be cleaned and reused! The Earth (especially the Oceans) will thank us for it!

Recycling should be considered as a common sense practice. We each contribute a min of 5lbs of trash daily, and unfortunately most of this trash winds up in our local landfills. There is no plausible excuse for this. As a parent, I am less concerned about the campus being ascetically pleasing and more concerned about what we are teaching our youth.

UT should be a leader in Tampa Bay for sustainability but sadly we are not there yet if we can't even place recycling bins in all of the dorms. Also, rumor has it, the bins that are for recycling get thrown in the trash anyway because of poor labeling. UT- please address this.

Every time I ask why we don’t have readily accessible recycling I am told that it makes our campus “less ascetically pleasing” and I think that’s ridiculous because if I were touring colleges it would be a huge plus for me to see clean recycling stations.

The University of Tampa is one of the only universities that does NOT have recycling bins in their dorm room.
