How do we teach sustainability at this school, and even have a sustainability minor, and not have adequate recycling/compost programs!!

This is especially important considering the major threat plastics in the world are affecting everything especially marine life, something I am extremely passionate about saving. Conservation isn’t always enough to save species and the world, it starts here, where humans can start to reverse their destructive behaviors and recycle plastics that will be apart of the world for forever. The University has already had a great start by removing plastic straws, now let’s spread the love and spread the availability for recycling.

Regrettable that a petition is even necessary to accomplish this goal.

For a major university UT has some of the WORST recycling programs I have ever seen. Time to change

So you support the fact that 97% of what’s recycled gets burned? Interesting. I’m assuming you’ve never been inside one of these facilities...

Nope. 97% of what’s recycled gets burned. Maybe you should have gone into one of these facilities before you assume they help the environment.

No it’s not. 97% of what you recycle gets burned. Inform yourself.
