Such unfair rules for average Canadians, Mortgages should not be government by Bureaucrats, that collect large salaries - that is not what the average Canadian has for income. The ability to access equity in their homes is not nor should it ever be a Government decision.

Canadians need a competitive market to shop for their mortgage needs. These changes need to be reversed, or at the very least amended.

Help hard working Canadians keep more money in their pockets. Don't penalize consumers so that banks can make more money. Competition keeps the market healthy and more responsible.

We need to keep monoline lenders in business to compete against the big banks. Consumers have the right to chose and options make competition pro consumer.

I want mortgage options and the ability to use the equity in my home. These new mortgage rules hurt me and my family. I don't want to use a bank for my mortgage. The penalties are too high and the options don't benefit me. Monolines have great options for Canadians.

This is outrageous. A self-employed borrower can no longer refinance under the old-rules/old-rates. So what are they to do? Pay through the nose. Is this what we want for Canadian borrowers?

I think this is a great idea. I definitely agree that keeping the Canadian Mortgage Market competitive is the only way that the consumer will actually be given fair mortgage products and rates. Monopolies never benefit the consumer.
