Even as a journeyman in my trade I can't qualify for enough to buy something within an hour commute or less. Then they put a stress test on the first time home buyer's as well. I would like to know why the foreigners are still able to buy so easily and drive up housing prices. I know very well they are not working making 30+ an hour. If they were they would be in our shoes and yet we cannot still afford anything even a dump. Apartments 30 minutes outside of Vancouver are priced at $450,000. Completely unacceptable for citizens not even able to afford a place even with more than 10% saved to put down.

These changes are simply putting current homeowners further into unsecured forms of debt with higher interest. This does not benefit the public, but the Banks balance sheet.

Healthy Fair Competition is essential! Because of the *"Little Guy"(*non-bank lenders) I was able to secure a mortgage and have owned my OWN 1st Home in my Life! since 2010, I'm 61 years old! Let's NOT be bullied, stand up!

I work my fingers to the bone each and everyday in order to be able to afford to make enough money to put down on a home that I can call my own. It seems that every time I get close, mortgage rates go up furthering the distance of the goal that i am trying to establish. I am tired of making someone else more wealthy by paying them monthly rent when I should be putting that money into a mortgage payment towards what I should be able to call "My Own Home". The Canadian Mortgage Market needs to stay competitive so that middle classed people like myself and thousands of others that are in the same boat can purchase a home instead of making their landlords and landladies more and more wealthy. I'm sick and tired of making the greedy rich people in this country even richer and more greedy. After all, isn't it the middle class people that the rich people milked, in order to get rich? Enough already, You greedy rich people aren't any better people than we middle class people that you milked to get rich, You live in houses that you could fit two, three or four families in, where all I ask for is to be able to buy an average size home.

The mortgage market needs to be as open as possible to all purchasers with significant flexibility to meet all their needs. Not every application fits in a predetermine lending box.

The new mortgage rules will essentially strip the consumer from having choice. The banks have and will continue to raise rates and clients will not have any choice but to take what they can get. We are going backwards. How ridiculous is that? WE MUST EDUCATE THE CONSUMER. Why is the media not jumping all over this? They should be reporting on how these rules will give the banks more power, whilst the vulnerable consumer pay the price!

Why should shopping for a mortgage be any different? The largest transaction we make deserves choice.

These changes were made with no consultation of the mortgage industry, and need to be rolled back.
