The arrogance of the school to not consult about these changes is disgusting. It shows how out of touch you are, which for a Roman Catholic school is shameful.

I’m amazed at how such decisions are made without any consultation with parents first.
Also how does numbers increase a schools ofsted to OUTSTANDING?
Surely firstly it’s should be the quality of teaching and relations between the children, parents and school. Most importantly the presence of a head for me is the most important thing. A head who can identify each child and parent says a lot as the head is the core! It’s all well and good organising meetings making decisions before parents are aware but what relations are made with families. There needs to be some sort of personal approach as it was at sacred heart many years ago and as it is with many primary SchoolsI know with OUTSTANDING but yet with very small numbers.

This is so sad. The school has great teachers and parents. A lot of bridges clearly need to be built to repair relationships.

Extremely disappointed by this dictatorial approach to change - it appears that we have returned to the dark ages. The senior team has lost all creditability, uses bullying tactics and abuses their position. In terms of your vision you are clearly not living or loving with any morale compass - in addition your goal is financial and does not consider the emotional and mental well-being or development of the children you are supposed to speak up for. Shame on you - you have lost all faith, support and trust from the community you are suppose to serve and which you are part of. Do not look for support from parents in the future if you continue to apply this approach.

This seems a poorly thought out plan. As a year 5 parent we have already had two years of shared teachers and now is expected to have further disruption with a new group of classmates. Io simply don't have enough space to go into the educational conundrums that this plab creates.

A community rich in varied culture and diversity will not water down the identity of individual children at the Sacred Heart - in fact it will enrich their learning experiences and prepare them for life amongst all God’s people.

Incredulous at the email sent by the school yesterday.
A "community" does not make far reaching decisions such as these without the inclusion and thoughts of all its stakeholders!
Where was the communication to parents in the lead up to this fundamental change ?
What was the consultation process ?
Why were opinions not sought by the board of governors ?
Extremely dissapointed in the lack of leadership , vision and inclusion shown by the schools senior leaders.

So disappointed to receive yesterday's letter. Reminded me of a situation many years ago when a decision was made regarding the admissions policy without consultation with parents, and which resulted in a number of families leaving the school. The decision was reversed a year later, but this was too late for those families. Would be a shame if this leads to a similar situation. Would like to know when this idea was first put forward. After 20 years as a parent at Sacred Heart I am sad that this will affect our final year there. Transparency is important otherwise trust and respect are lost.

Very concerning to read that the leadership team of our school think it’s ok to convert the dining room into a class room. I have had my concerns with leadership at the school for sometime now and this further cements them. The governors and head are not thinking in the interests of the children and the parents. There are teacher vacancies up and down the country with little uptake. This doesn’t sound safe to me and I would have thought our Ofsted report and inspection report from Diocese will damaged. If the leadership team believe this is correct then they can’t say they haven’t been warned. How this assured me that my children’s happiness is their key priority I do not know.

Hugely concerned about the impact this will have on our son as he enters year 6 and has to contend not only with all that year 6 will bring in terms of SATS and preparing for secondary school but now he will have to contend with a class with half from a different year group and disruption to friendships which have been in place for 8 years. And we're to lose the dining hall so what will be next to go - the top field to make way for more classrooms as the powers that be decide the next step will be to move to a 2 class entry again without consultation with the parents.

So far this appears to have been dealt with very badly, there has been zero consultation with the most important stakeholders (the parents). It is also not clear what the benefits are, if any. How can adding more children and confusion to an already complex system improve the performance of the children and aid the betterment of the school? Regardless of all else, how can the infrastructure of the school cope with the extra students too, you cannot just convert the dining room to a classroom without plans to replace it or at least have some sort of a plan for future extension/expansion.

Why weren’t we consulted? As parents we should have been involved. I’m deeply concerned about the disruption to my childrens’ education and their wellbeing. Why not trial this with incoming reception children rather than cause so much upheaval for the whole school? Very unhappy and 100% against this change unless I can be shown some good evidence as to why this would be a good idea. I have chosen to send my child to a faith school and do not want their identity to be watered down by children who have been placed in our school by the Local Authority to fill spaces. From the outside this looks like the priority is on money rather than the happiness and education of our children.
